Question about Refrigerators

I need to replace the door gasket on a Whirlpool refrigerator ET8WTMXKQ01. The gasket appears to be held on by the liner but there are no screws in the liner to take it loose or off. Any ideas?

Try folding the gasket back in a couple of spots to see if there are screws underneath. Pull it back from the inside edge.

It has a clamp I beliece and it just slides out but you can go to appliancepros.com online and look up that model and it will show you exatly where the screws are if there are any. Most have screws in the corner onlt and others have none at all, and if you don't have the gasket you canorder it there also.

Hello my swan retro top fridge freezer fridge door seal is not catching to close

Remove the defective gasket from the refrigerator. The removal method may differ depending on the properties or materials that hold the gasket in place on your refrigerator.
  • Examine the gasket on your refrigerator to determine how it is held in place. The gasket may have adhesive strips, screws, or clips that fasten it to the refrigerator door panel.
  • Use the appropriate tools or methods to remove the defective gasket. For example, if the gasket is held in place by screws, use a screwdriver to remove the screws. If adhesive strips are in place, use a putty knife to pry the gasket away from the refrigerator door panel.
  • Pull the gasket away from the door panel one side at a time. This will allow you to verify that all fastening components have been completely removed, preventing pieces of the gasket from breaking off and being left on the door panel otherwise.

Hi, I think the seal is damaged on my fridge freezer. It is a CB18m/1c/fan whirlpool fridge freezer. Where do i look for a replacement seal? Thank you

Is a package/or a shelf blocking the door? If a gasket is required & damaged it would be noticeably different than the look of the rest of the gasket. The door originally was held straight by the screws behind the gasket & a undamaged door liner(cracked with weight of packages will cause it to twist), if it is twisted than it can be realigned by twisting it straight & may have to loosen the screws a little first & then snug them back up after it has been twisted straight. Gaskets generally have a flat magnet in them to pull the door up to the body of the fridge & with a model number(or take the gasket to them is the worse scenario) can be obtained from a Major appliance store or they can order it.

Need freezer door internal access

IF it is possible for you to perform this refrigerator repair, it will depend on one thing, whether or not you have screws located underneath your door gasket. Open your freezer door, and grab the inner side of the gasket, away from the door edge, and peel the gasket back, towards the edge of the door. If you have several screws down the length of the door, you can remove the gasket and door liner, and the fiberglass insulation, but you wont be able to remove the foam insulation. If you only have a couple of screws or none at all, you have what they call a foamed in liner and gasket, and disassembly, and more importantly, reassembly, is extremely difficult, moreso for a DIYer.

Replacing door gaskets on model EF19MKXSN00

The gasket is held in place by metal strips on all 4 sides with a lot of screws. Loosen do not remove the screws and pull the gasket out from under it, Warm the new gasket in some hot water and tuck back under the retainers. Tighten the screws snug not overly tight. Use a heat gun or hair dryer to seat the new gasket and remove the wrinkles. Careful not to overheat and melt it.

I hve to replace a gasket on a refrig door i have the part but it doesnt have any adhesive do i need a glue or heat it in place id also like to know the best way to remove the current gasket which seems to...

Normal fitting for a door gasket is plastic pop buttons which go through the edge of the liner then through the gasket and into pre-drilled holes in the fridge door.

Some older uinit has stainless steel self tappers doing the same job.

You will probably find that if you place a normal dinner knife under the current gasket between it and the door you will be able to prise the thing off

Make sure that you are not too heavy handed about it in case you snap the buttons off

I want to remove door handle to replace broken fixture.

I think you may have to remove the door gasket, if you look behind the gasket you will see the screws holding it and the inner door liner in place, both should be removed and you will then have access to the handle screws from within the door.

Whirlpool GD25 replacing water line

Nick, this is a bear of a job. You may just wanna have fun at parties after all is said and done! 1.) Remove the door from the unit. at the top hinge, remove all screws and disconnect all wiring. Tilt the door toward you and lift it off the bottom hinge. Lay it on the floor handle down. 2.) Remove the liner. Peel the door gasket back a little... see all those 1/4" screws? They have to come off. (*NOTE---> note how the door gasket fits/tucks into the liner, it'll have to go back that way) After the liner is off, you'll see the back side of the dispenser area. Make a note of how all of the insulation and the wiring is located, then remove all of it. There you go! Good luck with it. Speaking of parties, you could actually invite your friends over and make a "drinking game" out of this one... someone takes a drink every time they moan and say "how does this go, again?" or "#%@^!**". Then again, maybe not... 'cause once you start, you HAVE TO finish. Otherwise the freezer would be open and you and all your friends would most likely be passed out on the floor 'til mid-morning! Moral of the story? Don't drink and do this job.
