Kenmore washing machine didn't spin @ end of cycle
Kenmore 600 washing machine didn't spin the clothes at the end of the cycle last night. tried a different spin cycle and it worked. the next load it wouldn't spin on any cycle.
Re: kenmore washing machine didn't spin @ end of cycle
If you tried a different cycle and it worked this means that the timer is probably bad on the main cycle that you use. If the machine does not spin on all cycles, then please check out the LID SWITCH.

Probably the worst washing machine manual I have ever read!
Try this.
Put your wollens in the machine, set for cold water, Woollens Cycle and your 'Soak' detergent. It will agitate a bit, and as soon as it stops filling, turn it off.
After say 20 minutes. Then Move the dial to Spin, and pull the knob out. It _should_ pump out and spin.
This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.
First, see the Sears parts site for your washer: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action
Enter your model number (###.########) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.
Initial thoughts point to one of two places.
1. It's possible that your pump and/or hoses are clogged.
2. It is also possible that the "Motor coupler" between the motor and transmission is worn and cannot provide full power to the tub when agitating.
See the following illustrated descriptions of how to access the pump and motor coupler.
If either is bad or worn, they aren't all that expensive.
I doubt that the problem is the motor since the machine will agitate and spin.
sounds like your transmission is not working properly. check your warranty information. (should be in your owners manual) many of the whirlpool made top loaders came with a 5 year warranty on the transmission/gear case
