when i on the power and try to make a photo it shows focus error and when i off it the lens not come back.

After the basics, try dropping it on a carpeted area from 2-3 feet. It worked for my Fuji A500 and 90% of the responders on the link.
The error may be caused by debris in the zoom mechanism preventing it from working. Dropping the camera loosens the debris.

Yes I too have the same prob.. it say focus error and the focussing lens is stuck..... restarting the camera does not help the lens refuses to move...i tried replacing the cells also .. no luck!

I had this same problem with my A500. I simply pressed in on the self timer lamp and the power button at the same time and the lens retracted.
