Drivers issues: Sound (Realtech) and Touch pad (Synaptics)

I have a Toshiba Satelite L300D with Windows Vista Bussines SP1 edition. One day when connected to internet the machine perform the automatic updates... I just was aware when closing the computer... Well,...the problem is that after update, when restarting, sound is not enable and touch pad is not longer working. I tried with the CD supplied with the computer for system rescue and drivers; I tried to install the respective drivers but... nothing, after several minutes, I receive an asnwer of ''Driver not installed, Error code 0001'' or somthing like that for the sound driver, and just a message of driver not installed from the Synaptics driver for touch pad (the laptop mouse)... I tried restoring the system to the previous state to the SP2 installation, but nothing, then I tried to reinstall the SP2... wait to see what happens, nothing happens, then try again with the drivers....but nothing again... may you help me please??????? PLEASE!!

I would go to the Toshiba site and looking for the Synaptics and sound drivers and reinstalling just them.
Apparently something interrupted the updates and that affected the drivers.
Another thing you can do is start the computer with the system disk and choose the repair your computer option. It should check your hard drive for errors.

Hi please help. i installed windows 7 on my laptop and the touch pad scroll does not work. I downloaded all possible drivers from Sony's official site, but no success. Help please. Thanks

What you need is not just the driver but the "Synaptics" software. This software enables gestures for laptop touch pads including scrolling. They are located here: http://www.synaptics.com/resources/drivers
32 bit: http://drivers.synaptics.com/Synaptics_v15_2_20_C_XP32_Vista32_Win7-32_Signed_Marketing_SGS94_UI-Scrybe.exe

How to enable 2 Finger Scrolling, like MAC ie, multi touch in Windows

Multi-touch or multitouch functionality has been attracting consumer attraction, thanks to iPhone and iPod Touch, two-finger-scroll in Apple MacBook with TrackPad, and Windows 7, which has built-in multi-touch mapping application, photo viewing program, and gesture support in Internet Explorer 8. Multi-touch is essentially a set of interaction techniques which allow computerusers to interact and control graphical applications with fingers.
However, for marketing reason, Synaptics official standard drivers for most Synaptics TouchPads does not support multi-touch Synaptics Gestures. Synaptics' drivers lock gesture features on all non-supported OEM notebooks and laptop PCs, except for certain gadgets such as ASUS EEE PC. So multi-touch is disabled even though touchpad hardware does support them.
But now if you want to experiance this awesome multi touch features, well there is good news. One guy has developed a modded driver for synaptic which will enable the multi touch functionality in a normal PC with windows.
The Synaptics TouchPad driver should support all Windows operating system such as Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. However, do note that the digital signatures of the modded drivers have been broken, and the drivers are no longer signed. Thus, there may be issue when use in 64bit operating system which enforces strict driver signing requirements.
Installation:
  1. Uninstall all current Synaptics drivers from Control Panel's Add and Remove Programs or Programs and Features.
  2. Restart the computer.
  3. Install the modded driver by running the setup.exe inside the ZIP archive.
  4. Windows should prompt a warning about unsigned driver. Continue to install the driver anyway.
  5. Restart the computer after installation is completed and Synaptics TouchPad driver is updated.
  6. In Device Manager's Mouse and Other Pointing Devices" section, Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad should have driver version of 10.2.4.
Now just play around a little bit and you will know how awesome this features are. icon_smile.gif
Also there is a two finger scrolling application which is a project hosted in google code. So this application is all you need if you just need the 2 finger scrolling functionality in windows.
This application can be found here:
Download: http://code.google.com/p/two-finger-scroll/downloads/list
The moded drivers from synaptic can be found here:
Download synaptics_v10.2.4.0_allOS_modded_b2.zip or touchpad_synaptics_v10.2.4_vistax32x64_xpx32x64_modded_build2.zip
Or you can just download all the required files from here:
Mirrors:
  1. Synaptics Multi touch mode (all) - Selfhosted
  2. Synaptics Multi touch mode (all) - Rapidshare - Recommended
IMPORTANT: Do not upgrade the Synaptics TouchPad driver if you love these touch features, as Sypnatics locks and disable the advanced touch features from driver v11.0.0.0 onwards.

Dell XPS M1530 Vista originally installed - Fresh installed Win7 and now touch pad does not work - the right button works, and sometimes the left, but the touch pad does not. I've install the latest...

If you've reinstalled the drivers for the touchpad, the issue is likely the hardware- if in warranty, contact Dell tech support- if not, you may need to purchase the palmrest assembly and consult support.dell.com for the install instructions

Touchpad is not working and does not show up in

You need to reinstall the Synaptics driver from Toshiba. If you do not have the Toshiba driver CD for your laptop you can try the generic ones from : http://www.synaptics.com/support/drivers
The touch pad may also be disabled in the system bios, (ie the options before you boot through to windows) Re enable it there if you are sure it is not a driver problem.
If still no joy, your local Toshiba agent can advise free on rectification, but you have to take the notebook in to them.
Hope this helps.

You may need to check to see which "service pack" you are currently on.

See below requirements:

System Software — Windows XP & Vista
  • Windows Vista Business or Ultimate Edition
    • 32-bit OS Installation Only
  • Windows XP Professional or Home Edition
    • With Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3

  • Not Supported:
    • Windows Vista 64-bit (any version)
    • Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
    • Windows XP Media Center Edition
    • Windows 98, Me, 2000, NT, 95, 3.1, DOS

  • Not Tested:
    • Windows Vista Home and Home Premium Edition
    • Although Windows Vista Home and Home Premium Edition have not been tested or qualified by Digidesign, there are currently no known issues with Vista Home and Home Premium 32-bit operating systems and Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4 compared to the supported Windows Vista Business or Ultimate Edition operating systems.

Windows Vista SP1
There are currently no known issues with Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista based on our initial limited testing and customer feedback. Although full qualification with all Digidesign products has not been completed, we do not recommend against updating to SP1, given the number of important overall system fixes in SP1. We do recommend that you backup your system and create a restore point before updating to SP1, should you encounter any problems after installing the update.
