My sony clicks green led flashes but no sound no picture a dark screen only...there' s breif sound like a fan blade churning just a few seconds..

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power led, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Viewing it in "Mosaic" will make surf easy.

14 blinks to Sony Brand LCDs indicates a 'Backend error'. It means that, the main board to this TV should be checked for fault. In most cases the main board might need replacement, and a software update too. If you wish to know more details about this blinking code, check this link. A Flashing Red ON/STANDBY LED means one of the following
2 Flashes - The internal temprature is high. Check the air holes are unobstructed.
4 Flashes - The fan is broken
6 Flashes - The internal electrical system has failed.
There is no entry in the manual for 12 red flashes.

Check the Lamp if no picture, audio may be present. Screen is completely dark. Lamp LED flashes 2X every 5 seconds, Power LED flashes GREEN for 140 seconds then flashes RED.
Check the ballast if no picture, audio may be present. Screen is completely dark. Lamp LED flashes 3X every 5 seconds, Power LED flashes GREEN for 140 seconds then flashes RED.

Replace your lamp if you had it more the 3 years.

Replaced the sc board and tv works fine again.

power supply if led ligth stays blue and then after a few minutes changes to orange is your power supply.if light color goes to a purple that is your mainboard $$$$$$$$$$$

If I was abetting man - I would suspect that the fan is polarised, and has been wired incorrectly..

Check that there is nothing obvious in the way of the fan blades..

Hmm.. Your cellphone Leds could be broken.. :/
Try pressing the following keystrokes (and joystick for left/rigth):

Right, *, Left, Left, *, Left, *.

A new menu should be displayed on your screen.
Not sure of the english descriptions of these menus, I'll just tell you to enter the third menu item. (or press 3)
This is the test-menu for your cellphone. I certainly had much fun messing thru this menu, but for now try enter '1' for running a maindisplay-test. Your screen should cycle thru a colorful test, mainly displaying red, green and blue colors :)
second try the 2nd menu item, which test the lights/LEDs.
If this doesnt make your cellphone flash, on and off, with a 'Ok'-message, the LEDs may be out :/

I had the same exact problem.
I removed the bulb and cleaned it. There is a small screen at the top of the bulb and it was covered with dust. Once it was cleaned I replaced the bulb and it solved the problem.
