Karcher 620M not drawing water

Hi Tech support,

I have a KARCHER 620M and it will not draw water from a tank or a bucket..
I have replaced the head and changed all the filters and made sure all the valves were woking well. It did not draw water from day one since new but it works under tap pressure.

When my 620M is connected to main water supply and motor on it sounds ok but when trigger pulled the water pressure drops significantly. What can cause this?

Karcher pressure washer 620m motor only runs with switch held down but will not water pressur is the same as tap pressure out the nozzle

it is not uncommon that the switch is bad? if the switch controls the pressure telling it their is water and to start working? then i would just replace the switch.

Karcher 620m wont work at high pressure

what you describe indicates a problem hose or block nozzle jet
if it doesn't play up with a normal nozzle then it is not the hose or jet but that particular wand and nozzle you are using
do you have a sufficient inlet water supply for the pump

Hi, Karcher calls the unloader valve a spill valve,
this is a link to a full drawing/parts listing , and your fault description might well be a sticking /seized unloader(spill ) valve hope this helps

the part number is on page 9 of the drawing

How to put oil back into the Karcher water pump

You need to remove the pump and sit it brass side up before removing the bolts holding the brass to the aluminum part (you have to do it that way so the oil doesn't spill out.) CAUTION: there is some spring tension on the brass head.

Take the brass head off and set to the side on a rag or in a bucket. Dump out whatever oil is in the oil side, making sure not to drop the swash plate or bearing (the pieces sitting in the oil). Fill the oil end with aproximatly 4.5 ounces of Karcher pump oil, (or just 20w 50 weight non-detergent oil). Put the brass head back on and tighten bolts. Put the pump back on the machine.

If this helps please rate.

Hi,karcher hds hot pressure washer now pressure when you pull trigger and pulses.

what you need to do is, take the screw fitting which goes to the water tank off, then the one that goes from the water tank to the pump head .
then put the one that was in the first place going to the water tank on to the pump and force feed with water.
see if you can see water leaking from any where seals hose.
try running the machine to check the pressure.
if water leaking from pump head you need seals.

Your problem is simply a worn bypass valve on its awy out. It still works enough for mains pressure but can not pressurise when drawing water.

Karcher Pressure washer

Hi
don't know if this will help, but when I use mine, to start the pressure up I have to turn the nozzle to fine spray then turn it to the power spray and it works every time, shouldn't have to do this but I got it for nothing.
