the livebox DOES support printing I have 4 computers 1 running xp 1 on windows 7 both can print from the live box through a HP C3180 (although the scan function is not available) the 2 macs however can't, the macs used to print in os 10.5.8 but not since I upgraded to 10.6. I have tried adding printers through the cups (which is how I did it in leopard ) system but when i try to print through the liveprinter (HP C3180 connected via usb through the livebox) the job just sits there sometimes get an error" broken pipe" or "cannot connct will retry in 30 secs". I have tried every combination ie hp jet direct through socket:9100 etc but to no avail. Thanks

As far as I know, a Livebox does not support an USB print server function, if that's what you're trying to accomplish. The USB port in the Livebox is for configuration only.
However, there might be a new model I haven't seen that has such a functionality.

HP Photosmart C3100 printer is printing very slow.

Check 'properties' when printing and make sure that you are not printing at the highest quality color if you are not printing pictures.

Shows as offline on my mac book

if you are using Windows XP perform the steps below:
1. Click Start --> Printers and Fax.
2. Right click the printer icon and check the following:
a. Check whether the All-in-One is set as default printer.
b. Ensure that the there is a check mark on the "Use printer online". If you have the Use printer offline, make it online by selecting the option.

Can't add printers to Mac

Can you install them individually (i.e. connect only one printer with a single cable to the USB port)?  If you can and then connect them both through a USB hub you may be able to see them both in the printer setup and select the one you want when printing.

Laptop fails to recognise printer (HP J4680)

Have you tried temporarily disabling the mac address filtering?

If you have the option to print out a diagnostic sheet then this will clarify if that is the problem.

I have an orange livebox and I had to press button 1 on the livebox in order to temp disable MAF so that the router could pair properly with the HP printer.

Hope this helps.

Hp 3210 photosmart Is it possible to print from black cartridge only,

It is possible. You will have to go into the properties of the printer you're using. Assuming you're using WinXP, go to Start>Printers and Faxes and right click your color printer. Choose Printing Preferences. Using my HP Photosmart C3100 as an example, I would next choose the Color tab and under Color Options, choose the radio button that says Print In Grayscale. That will do it.

My Mac says it is not available.

If you are using OS 10.3.9 or 10.4 then go to your Mac HD - there should be an icon on your desktop - and then to applications. Then to utilities and finally to printer setup utility. Click on your printer and then up at the top click on the delete button and if it asks if your sure you want to delete you can click yes or delete. If there is more than one C3100 then do this process until there are no more in the list. Then click on the add button and you should see your c3100 printer with a USB connection (I assume USB but could also say bonjour). Click on printer to highlight and then click on the add button.

Now try to do a print - it should clear the error message.

If using 10.5 you will go to the apple in the top left and then down to system preferences and then to print and fax. Steps are the same but instead off add and delete buttons you use the + and - in the bottom left corner under the printer list.
