  1. Find the pink Clear button on the Control Panel of the WorkCentre.
  2. Find the button below the word Auto.
  3. Press these buttons in the following sequence: [Clear], [Auto], [Clear], [Auto] NOTE: All of the lights on the Control Panel should go out and the LED DisplaySharp AL-1655CS - 1.gif should go blank. If the lights do not go out, then repeat step 3 until they do. It may be necessary to increase or decrease the pace of the [Clear], [Auto], [Clear], [Auto] sequence.
  4. Press the [10's] key one time and the [1's] key four times to enter '14' in the LED Display, as if you were to make 14 copies1.gif.
  5. Press the green [Start] button.
  6. Press the pink [Clear] button two times.
  7. The WorkCentre should now warm up and come to ready.
  8. If the above steps do not clear the error code, repeat steps 3 to 6 a second time.

My boss has a Sharp AL-1655CS Copy Machine and it makes this awful, screatching noise when I try to copy anything. Now the System Error Code L1-00 shows up. Not sure what to do.

Your problem on scanner unite.May be your copier is now lock position.
Solve:Unlock position.Left side under copy Board. Then solve your problem.Or study your copier user manual.

Just press the following keystrokes:

Thank you!

MESSAGE: SYSTEM ERROR (H4-00) REFER TU USER GUIDE

We had this problem when the power was fluctuating in our building. I called Sharp and they told me to clear this condition with the following code: #*C* and when the screen shows 00-00 enter 14 and press the green copy buton. This worked on the AL-1655CS. On the AL-1631 we had to do a similar thing: C<auto>C<auto> 14 <copy>

Sharp 1655cs- replace the drum cartridge

There is a set of gears in the front of that drum cartridge with a flag on one of the gears, It has to be in the up position to swipe the drum replacement sensor. Most likely the flag had dropped in shipping.
You can take the green front off the drum and try and get that flag up and to the right. Or take the drum cartridge for a return and a new cartridge.
If that flag has dropped in shipping, it will not reset the drum count.
