Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have an impatient client who did not wait until I could get to his place of business to get his Windows Vista system going again, so he decided to do a system restore with the factory cd. Of course everything was erased when the new image was put on the hard drive. Now he is missing all his financial records and and client information. Is there some software that will accomplish this miracle? I know it is far beyond anything I can do and I do not know of any software that will accomplish the feat either.

Windows update failure (KB982670)

Believed me you have to reinstall your operating system. I encountered that problem too. I uninstall and re-installed .NET, update windows service packs nothing happened until I reformat the hard drive and install the operating system again.
remember format the hard drive first then install the operating system (backup your data first)

CONNECTION ABORTED

My advise, dump Vista, reinstall XP
You will always have trouble with Vista and find that you will have to pay for updates and old files will not open. Not to mention if you attach files to emails which were created with Vista may not always open on the receiver's system.

No tv signal on wake up

I recently dealt with the same problem. Client had upgraded to Vista on a Gigabyte M-board equipped desktop, and sound was absent until reboot, whenever PC was aroused. Client wanted me to reinstall Vista. Installed with all peripherals connected and loaded all unrecognized drivers after install. Still same problem, and nmoticed many other features disappeared after wake-up as well (extra/dedicated keyboard functions, scroll wheel on mouse, PCI-based PCMCIA card and the modem!). Sound was all my client cared about, so I wrote mfg. and got this response: Our driver is OK, follows all Vista uniform specs and addresses S1/S3 properly, but Vista does not have all its wake up from suspend/hibernate resolved, for many of our components/drivers. This is a Vista problem that MS assures us is being addressed". Client was not happy with "waiting for MS to address the envelope, please" so we reinstalled XP 64b and all works fine now. This is also your choice: wait till MS-hell freezes over, -or go back to XP. (or install Linux). Sorry. Apparently, some Vista problems just can't be "addressed yet".
