Perhaps the mouse and the receiver lost the connection because you replaced the batteries in the mouse? Try using the "connect" button on your mouse and your receiver to pair them.

Must I keep the other mouse I already hve plugged in b4 the connection of the Logitech M-RCE95 Cordless Optical Mouse, or do I hve 2pull out the mouse usb cord straight away, 1st b4 I do anything?

Hi
Generally speaking the operating system will recognise both mice if the wireless dongle and the wired mouse are both plugged in, but I would recommend unplugging the wired mouse and plugging in the dongle for the wireless mouse before powering on the computer.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Cheers

The wireless keyboard and mouse are not working.

  • Check to ensure that the wireless receiver is plugged into your computer. Press the "Connect" button on the bottom of the receiver to attempt reconnecting your mouse and keyboard to the computer. If your mouse and keyboard use Bluetooth, ensure that your computer's Bluetooth is active and detects the mouse and keyboard.
  • Check to see if the keyboard and mouse are turned on. If the power indicator lights on the keyboard and mouse are not green, press the "Power" button to turn the keyboard and mouse on.
  • Check the batteries of the mouse and keyboard. If the batteries are dead, replace them with fresh batteries and reconnect the mouse and keyboard to the computer by pressing the "Connect" button on the bottom of the wireless receiver attached to the computer. If your mouse and keyboard use rechargeable batteries, let the batteries recharge before using the device again.
  • Uninstall and reinstall your wireless keyboard and mouse drivers. Sometimes, the Logitech drivers are at fault for a bad connection. Use the Control Panel to uninstall the old drivers, then visit the Logitech website and install the latest drivers for your keyboard and mouse.
  • Search the Logitech Support Database. If your keyboard and mouse are still failing to function properly, visit the Logitech Support website and browse the support page for your product for specific solutions.

Trying to install logitech wireless mouse on Acer laptop with Windows 7 but not seeing the device. Wireless button is on and active on the laptop

Wireless button on laptop has nothing to do with wireless mouse. Plug in your mouse receiver that come with the mouse in to a USB port on your Laptop. Turn on your Mouse and hold the reset or sync button on the bottom of your mouse for a few seconds, so that the receiver can synchronize with your mouse. Mouse should now work OK

Logitech mouse is'nt working

You might try re-syncing the mouse with the wireless sender. Push the button on the sender (plugged into usb port usually) and then push the button on the bottom of the mouse.

Pc not recognizing wireless logitech or usb mouse. I've replaced batteries in the wireless and plugged the usb into every slot available still doesn't work.

If you go into the device manager, look to see if the USB controllers and hubs are detected. Or do they have a yellow warning on them.
When USB ports misbehave for me, I go into the device manager and remove them all and let the machine find them again. Then stuff usually works.
You don't say if you have a desktop or laptop. If you have a desktop, are the USB ports in the front of the machine actually attached to the motherboard?
I'm thinking my first suggestion is the one you should try first.
Then make sure the devices you are installing actually work.
Also, for wireless, be sure you push the "connect" button on the device.

How to set up the logitech mouse

This depends largely on the mouse you have chosen to install.
Older logitech mice had a CD that installed the proper drivers and sometimes a configuration program. Plug in the appropriate port then insert the CD when the PC asks for the drivers.

Wireless logitech mice usually are plug and play now.
No CD with the mouse. Plug into the USB the detector/receiver.
Put batteries in the mouse. Place detector/receiver in front of the area you plan to use the wireless mouse.
Viola your done.

I won't comment on Vista as this is the elephant in the room. :)
Suffice to say: Windows 7 will replace it very quickly and none too soon.

Good luck!

Make sure the mouse is linking to the wireless receiver on you have plugged into the computer (there should be a reset button on the mouse to establish a new link).
