Remove three screws on the back holding the top cover, then standing in front of machine, use the palms of your hands to sharply push back on the L and R edges to move the cover back about 1 and a half inches, then lift cover off. Top cotrol panel is held on by a screw at the top corners and tabs along the top edge. Watch out for sharp edges. Remove control panel and place on top or dryer drum with wires still attached. Open door and remove screws at 4 and 8 O'clock positions, the the four screws along the top of the front panel. Unplug the light and door switches and remove the front panel. That should get you most of the way there.

Then, adding to the very helpful advice of MNTECH, take off the two screws holding on the lint filter cover that goes between the lint filter and the blower. Clean this out and look for dryer sheets that have somehow made their way into the blower contraption. I had a loud 'shaking' noise coming from my dryer. There were some little rocks in the lint filter holder down at the bottom. They were shaking against the metal whenever the dryer was running. I removed them this way and now it is as quiet as new again! Thanks MNTECH for your helpful advice on how to get this far!

Can I change my LG Tromm gas dryer to electric with a conversion kit?

The short answer is no, at least not economically. A hard case tinkerer could probably do anything, but the two dryers (gas vs. electric) have to have internal designs of the heating mechanism so different that there is not a conversion 'kit' that could be made that would do the job at a price much less than buying a new dryer.

How do you convert to propane a kenmore elite model # 79671622310

You have to get the conversion kit. Mostly the burner gas nozzels has to be changed. Propane has a higher BTU value than natural gas. So the burner nozzle has to be smaller with propane.

You have to have the right nozzle kit for your dryer. Normally the propane nozzle kit comes with the new dryer. It is attached in a plastic seethrough bag and attached somewhere in the back of dryer.

Also you have to adjust the air opening in the burner for propane. Propane need more air than natural gas to burn properly. If you buy the conversion kit or find the conversion kit in the back of your unit, it will clearly give instructions how to do it.

Remove propane conversion to restore to natural gas

Buy a set of orifices and regulator spring for the gas valve in that dryer. The manufacturer should sell them as a conversion kit. It's a pretty simple conversion.

I need to convert my gas dryer to propane. I

Here are the basics of the conversion process:

Make sure the gas is turned off and the dryer2.gif is unplugged from the power source. Extreme care needs to be taken when installing the kit and making the conversion, since there is a very obvious safety issue if the kit is not installed properly. The kit will consist of a brass fitting with a nylon pin sticking out of it. This is called the blocking pin. At the gas valve and regulator you will remove the plug on the gas valve (called a leak limiter) and replace it with the fitting containing the blocking pin that comes in the conversion kit. That will change the gas regulator pressure setting from gas to propane.
Next, you will have to change the orifice metering plug in the burner. This does just what the name implies... it meters the amount of gas that enters the combustion area. The fittings that come with the conversion kit (blocking pin and orifice metering plug) are made of brass, which is a soft metal, and since they are being connected to a much harder steel, make sure that the fittings are not overtightened. I generally use some pipe dope on the threads. Once the conversion is completed, you want to check for leaks. I generally mix up some soapy water and spray it around the fittings to check for leaks. Look for bubbling which is a sign that there is a leak. The last thing to do is to reassemble the dryer. Start it up and make sure that it is operating correctly and that there are no obvious smells that would indicate a leak. If so, shut down immediately.
These are the basic steps for a gas/LP conversion. If there is any doubt that you feel comfortable making the conversion, then I recommend that you contact an appliance technician for assistance. Hope this helped and best wishes.

LG Gas Dryer to use Propane vs natural gas

The difference between a natural gas appliance and a propane one is basically the gas nozzles. For example if you have a gas stove and you lift up the top, under the burners are the small gas nozzles. The problem is there are no standard when it comes to these nozzles. In other words they are not interchangeable form one brand (Whirlpool to LG) to another or from one type (washer to furnace) to another. What you can do is contact you locale propane dealer and ask them if they have any suggestions. Also look on line for sites that may offer conversion kits like RV dealerships.
Hope this helps.

Front load gas dryer lg model dlg 5988w does not heat

This can obviously be several things, but I would first check the small safety thermostat. On the gas models, there is a small pin sticking out of it which can be pushed back in to reset it. It is located on the heater housing and is only about the size of a dime, with two wires on it. This will trip out easily if your vent was not clean, or is long or restricted in some ways (like using flex ducting)
If you need more help getting to it, let me know and I'll give you more instructions.
