Question about Dell 948 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Without further clarification on the type of inkjet and the operating system, i can only give you generic advice.
Start by checking that the outlet is live and that the power chord is secure in the printer. I know this sounds simple, but it is common for one outlet on a power strip to die and the others remain active. So try first plugging the printer directly into the wall.
Next, attempt to start the printer and listen for any hum or indications of electrical activity at all. If there is none...no lights, no movement, no response at all. Then you have a problem with the control board or the power supply in the printer. See if you smell smoke or electrical smells, if you do...unplug the printer immediately. This is pretty much a show stopper, at this point there will be nothing much you can do.
If there is a sign of life, a hum, lights, movement, something...and no smoke electrical smell. then it could be some sort of obstruction. Let me know the Operating system and printer make/model and I'll walk you through some trouble shooting.
