Toshiba A215-S7422 - microphone not working

I brought a toshiba A215-S7422 laptop and its microphone is not working . how do we know whether it has got built in microphone or not.

or is the issue with the drivers ?

-   my mic was working fine until i had a "hard drive 4 error" i was still under warranty so i sent it back, when it came back the mic no longer worked, and now the computer isn't under warranty! -   nik4289

-   My microphone on myA215-s4697 Toshiba laptop was working fine. I could record and playback. It suddenly stopped recording. The computer says the hardware is working. Soneone suggested updating the Microtek driver but this has not helped.-   sonnynaraine

I have the same problem with a toshiba A100, it has an inbuilt microphone, then the motherboard got damaged and was replaced in a official toshiba workshop
Now the microphone wont work.

there s no built in mocrophone in A215 s7422.

same problem on my toshiba A110
can't record anything although i updated the driver and it says that hardware is working properly!!!!!
