Question about Nintendo DS Lite Console

Is it a costly repair job or buy a new one?

Nintendo DS Lite will not power up/switch on? I'm the one with the DS who left it in car = moisture etc. Tried taking battery out and using on charger alone - orange light comes on (indicating fully charged) then immediatey goes out. Feeling it's fully charged, try switching on at side = nothing!?
Any advice/help appreciated. Is it what I think.....gone for good?!

Scratches on both screens and right hindge is broken

You need to buy a new DS. The cost of the screens and the time put into trying to fix it would be more than buying a new DS.

Nintendo Ds Left Trigger

The trigger button needs replacing...a picture of the button is available at:

This needs to be done with a proper soldering iron, not the one in my garage!

Easy way to get it done, buy a new trigger from eBay ( and take the part and your DS Lite (remove the covers to expose the switch, see YouTube for more help, 10 minutes work) to your local TV repair shop and ask them to solder the part onto your DS. They will usually charge a nominal amount and you DS is fixed!

Good Luck.

Nintendo DS Lite Console - Repairable or Not?

um well if this is happenig i sugest that you call the number on the back of the ds and ask them what the problem is its about 45$ to send it in and get it repaired but no leaving it in the car would not do this because i have dropped it in my pool once (lol) and nothing happened to it i just let it dry so as long as it isnt still moist then it will work also it may be your battery try taking it out and pluging in to the charger and using it without the battery. and you said that it does it half way through the game try another game.

Ds not lite

Replace the connector cord between two screens. You can buy new ones from DX Deal extreme! Carefully remove through hinge and attach securely.

Be careful not to break the fine wires connecting. Have to twist the connector cord in the correct way to make it go through hinge without damaging.

Good luck cos it is a fiddly job.
