I need to know if there is frost build up on the inside rear freezer wall , about 18 " up from the bottom . If so , then you have a defrost problem , which will you will need to answer back with the answer and a more detailed instruction on how to diagnose . If there is no frost on the inside wall , and the compressor is not running , then the control board is bad . Need an answer for this also . ( no , the compressor is not defective ) .

First of all check and see if the compressor is running and if not is it very hot to the touch. If the compressor is not running but hot then the compressor is either locked up or is cycling on its internal thermal overload. If this is the case then either the condenser fan motor is not running and/or the condenser coil is very dirty. If the condenser coil is dirty you need to blow it out with compressed air(watch out for all the blowing dust). If the compressor has been cycling alot on its internal thermal it will eventually lock up permanently and you will need a new compressor. I hope I was of some assistance to you!

The first thing to check is if you can hear the fan running inside the freezer. This not only keeps the whole freezer cold it alspo circulates air down to the refrigerator keeping it cool as well.

I have a ge refridgerator gss25k side by side. thefridge/freezer are not cooling. the bottom of the fridge freezes and the top is warm.

There is an air duct that connects the fridge to the freezer. A fan circulates air to cool the refrigerator.
The inside fan has stopped working or is blocked by ice.
Defrost the freezer. If the fridge starts to work properly then you have an auto defrost problem. If the fridge still does not work then there is a faulty fan.
A technician can help you there

My GE Side by Side is not working wierdly. the top few shelves on both the freezer and refridgerator are not cooling but the bottom shelves are cold.

Check to see if your evaporator fan is blowing in the freezer, then check your condensor fan behind the back panel. If those are both running make sure your coils are clean underneath your fridge. Cold goes down heat goes up, that's why it is warm up top and cold down. Start there. Good luck!

Our GE PTS25LHRBRWW refridgerator is running but it is slowing warming up to 50 degrees in both the freezer and the fridge. It seems to be blowing and running like usual.

ge has had alot of problems with the computer board that's in the back of the fridge.but first try this, open the freezer door, you should hear the fan blowing in there,if not you could have a bad evap fan motor, also touch the back wall of the freezer,if there's snow or ice on the back wall you have a defrost problem, you could have a bad heater or a defrost thermostat, also have you cleaned the coil on the bottom of the fridge?remove the bottom kick plate and vac it out, pull out the machine, remove the back bottom panel and vac that out, ashop vac works great for this vac out what you can and then blow out the coil and clean out any of the dust that you couldn't vac up.if the frame between the doors is hot that's one way of telling it's time to clean under there and when you have the back panel off make sure the fan is blowing back there.if everything looks good i would change the computer board,it costs around 150 to 200 hundred bucks.let me know what you find and if you need any more help let me know.

GE Profile Artica Side by Side Refridgerator isn't cooling.

You say fan seems to be working? it either is or it is not working. If you are getting a reduced airflow in the cabinet, it may indicate that the evaporator coil is iced up and needs to be manually defrosted.

My ge profile side by side bottom freezer is hot to the touch

is you condenser fan runnig at all. look in the back ot the unit and if you have a cover plate hten you need to either put your hand close to the opening and feel if there is a draft or if ther is air being blown out that is warm. If not then the condenser fan may be toast.
