Question about Projection Televisions
There is a blue light at the bottom of the screen. It seems to be getting bigger. What should I do? Shortly after replacing the lamp in my Sony WEGA 42" LCD TV I noticed a small portion of the lower right hand corner of the screen turn bright blue. The blue area gradually became larger as time went on, and now there is a slightly grey portion near the middle of the screen. images look blue/purple at these spots. Is the replacement lamp broken or could this be a different problem? I'd hate to spend more $$ on a brand new lamp just weeks after replacing the old one.
Uh Oh! blue screen of death. Your light engine
has warped a little from overheating and is distorting the picture.
My suggestion to you is to get on the phone with Sony and start complaining, then keep complaining until they agree to pay for it. Even if it is out of warranty.
You may have to get the problem diagnosed by a pro before they agree to pay for it though.
Hope ya fix it!
