were you put the belt on see if any thing is rubbing against shaft.it may have been the belt,replace the belt and clean out the bab and also the floor brush.
When the green lights do not come on when vacuuming with a Kirby, this indicates that your belt has either broken or fallen off. There is a magnet on the beater bar that activates the LED green light when it's spinning.

Take the nozzle of, remove the brush roll, put the a new belt over the brush roll, re-install and put the bottom plate on, making sure that the belt is in the middle of the brush roll. Turn the big knob on the front until it locks, when it grabs the belt it will be hard to turn. Re-install the nozzle on the machine and lock it down. Turn the knob again all of the way, this will release the belt unto the pulley.
Put the belt over the brush roll, set it in the middle, put the brush roll into the head and put on the bottom plate. Turn the big knob on the front of the nozzle to catch the belt, turn it until it locks into place. Then put the nozzole onto the front of the vac, then turn the knob all of the way the other direction, it will put it on the motor pulley.
