Ok.....my internet is up and running......and im useing the SB5101 Model...but when i switch it back to my SBG900....it gets stuck on the roadrunner (internet provider) web page.....it works fine with the...

Turn the cable-modem off.
Unplug the AC poewr to the cable-modem.
Turn the router off.
Unplug the AC power.
Reconnect the AC power to both the cable-modem and the router.
Turn the router on -- this off/on sequence should "reset" the cable-modem and the router.

If the router still does not work, replace it.

If the cable-modem does not work, get RoadRunner to replace it, if they want to keep you as a paying customer.

Cannot connect 2 computers to Motorola SBG900 wireless cablemodem

mac and pc security keys are not interchangable. I suggest not using a a key for both units. You can reset the router by unplugging it for 1 minute. or you gain access to the router through the web address. 192.168.1.1 Type this into the address bar to gain access to the router.

Motorola SB5100 and linksys router connection

The only thing that you need to setup on your Linksys for it to work with cable is to make sure that DHCP is enabled on the router.  You will need to plug your router into the modem via the ethernet cable and then plug your neighbors pc into a link port on the router (the cable modem plugs into the internet port)  You will also need to follow the reboot procedure.  Power everything off.
1: Turn on the surfboard and wait about 1 minute for the surfboard to make a connection with your ISP (the link light should come on).
2:Turn on your router and wait for your router to sync up with the surfboard . 3: Turn on your computer. Whenever you plug anything into a cable modem, you must recycle power to the modem.  It "remembers" the last device that was plugged into it, so it's memory needs to be cleared.

SBG900 doesn't go online

I have the same modem/router. I had the same problem. I had to call my service provider and they had to put the modem into the system so the ip address would so up correctly. You need to call them and tell them what kind of modem you have. Have the model number and serial number ready to give them. They will have to make some adjustments on their end and they will most likely tell you to reset your modem. After that it should work fine. My worked fine after I talked to them and they made their adjustments. I hope this helps you.

Motorola sbg900 wireless modem

have you tried powercycling your modem? turn of your computer, unplug the power cord from the back of the modem. wait a minute (literaly). plug power back into modem and wait for lights to come on and stop flashing. power computer back up. Check to see if connections works. Also check your cable connections between the modem and the computer. If all fails contact your Internet Service Provider, who most likely provided you with the modem.
