Re: Transformer????

I have wanted to fix one of theses TV's for myself for some time. I found this part some time ago. I have not fixed it yet due to other commitments but I hope you can get to it.

Try MCM Electronics1.gif. Try this link:

You can also call them at: 1-800-543-4330 They may be able to help you find the one you are looking for or offer a substitute.

When I owned a repair center several years ago, I ordered flybacks and other parts from them and never had a problem.

Good Luck!

When the TV is turned off, try to bump on the two lateral sides with the two hand palms at the same time. If the set comes on, there are dried solder joints that need to be clean and ressoldered. Ressolder all the points where heavy componentes are placed: power switching transformer and switching transistor and flyback transformer and associated circuits and the small pcb attached to the CRT. I do not know why, Toshiba sets are prone to dried solder joinis.

Good luck.

Toshiba cz 36t31 suddenly has no sound and shows no pic only the red on light comes do i fix this and is it worth fixin???

If the red light on little chance of a fuse, set is large and old enough unless you have some experience or know someone who does you may not be able to fix it.

Issues range from broken connections at for example the high voltage transformer to elsewhere in set or almost any part in power supply for this issue.

Typical high voltage transformer--look do not touch.

D/A Raider Ham Tube Linear Amplifier, tube filaments overheat

This is not a transformer problem, it would blow fuses if transformer shorts out. It is hard to say, what could cause the problem without looking at the unit. But, you mentioned new power cord with grounding. That looks suspicious to me. Tyr to diconect grouding wire, and see if that helps.

Either a converter or an over the air digital antenna will work.

Bad components in the horizontial/vertical output. High voltage (flyback), even a bad relay or weak component. These 'steady' failures are often thermal problems as some components fail, they work when cold, turn them on, they heat up, they fail, they cool off, they work. You can pinpoint with some cold spray. When it fails hit the chip or component you suspect with the spray, if it comes right back. Thats your circuit.

Flyback transformer on television

Single white line across screen mean a vertical colapse. So you will need the vertical output and maybe a cap around 100uf@50v.

Toshiba 35A44 - Dark picture on all channels and DVD's

for this brightness problem actually came out from flyback, before you spend and waste your money, try to adjust at back of your tv first. But if you aren't an expert, better ask technician to do because that transformer supply a very high voltage....there's two adjustment point at flyback transformer, one point for focus and the other one for brightness! try first...
