Also, double check that you have fully seated in the cartridges and that they align as they should. Lastly, it is important that you are using Genuine Canon ink cartridges to ensure longer printer life, not void any warranty you may have remaining on the printer, and most importantly to ensure proper communication with the actual cartridges.
