Hi.

The best way to delete songs is connecting the Ipod to computer and using ITunes to delete songs.

Start by setting iTunes to manually manage the content on your iPod.

To select Manual management follow these instructions.

  1. Connect iPod or iPhone to your computer.
  2. Open iTunes.
  3. Select iPod or iPhone in the Devices list.
  4. Click the Summary tab and select "Manually manage music and videos."
  5. Click Apply.
After following the steps above, you can add or delete individual songs, videos, and playlists from iTunes to your iPod. The auto sync functions will keep working as usual.

After setting ITunes to Manual, click the gray triangle icon next to your iPod in the iTunes Source panel.

You can remove items from the iPod by highlighting them as they appear on the iPod and choosing Delete from the Edit menu.

You can add playlists and songs from iTunes to your iPod simply dragging them to the iPod panel.

I have a black 8gb ipod nano and when I sync previous songs

this is what you will do, when you sync it again stop the automatic sync the click on your player on the itunes window to see its details, you will see 3 or 4 checkboxes and check manually add music or songs and ucncheck if there is any, the box that says automatically sync music, then click sync, it will start syncing again the disconnect. add songs only to the folder where itunes have got the songs so that next time you sync the ipod the songs previously added wont be erased.

Delete all songs

Automatically adding and removing songs and playlistsWhen iPod is set to automatically sync all music with iTunes (default setting), songs and playlists that are added or deleted from your iTunes Library will also be added or deleted from your iPod when the iPod is connected and synced with iTunes. If your iPod is set to only sync certain playlists automatically, songs are added or removed from the iPod when they are added or removed from the playlists in iTunes that are synced to iPod1. For more information about automatic syncing with iPod, see the iPod Tutorials and this article.

"lost" as in deleted?
if it's been deleted off of the ipod, then you'll have to download or rip the music again, the original files are gone for good.

Deleting songs from Ipod Nano 8GB

When you connect the ipod nano to the computer, you can do one of two things: you can go to the ipod's main home page in itunes and go to the bottom where it will have four options listed. 1 of them should say manually manage files. Click on the check box next to it and it should ask you if you are sure and click yes. Then go into your music folder of your ipod and delete the songs you don't want on there. To add music, all you have to do is click and drag what you want onto the oped. The second way you could do it is to go into your library before connecting your nano to your computer and un-checking all of the boxes next to the music you do not want on your nano and then connect it to a computer and let it sync. The first way is easiest and less time consuming as you only have to do it once. Hope this helps!

I want to erase music of my ipod nano

Go to itunes and click on a song that you want to delete and press the delete button on your keyboard and it will ask you if you are sure you want to delete this song from all playlists and off the ipod and click yes and it will delete. Unfortunately, it will not let you delete it from the ipod menu without connecting it to a computer.
