Question about Sanyo DSC-SX500 / VPC-SX500 Digital Camera

Sanya VPC-SX500 Camera received error message of "Decodeerror" and locks up. I have to take the batteries out in order for the message to be removed. Why is this?? I haven't had the camera that long.

hi try to reset ur camera...To do such reset, turn on the camera and hold the menu button down for longer than 5 seconds. A message should hopefully come up on your LCD asking if you want to reset the camera. Select Yes...

I have a sanya vpc-s670 camera i just got today and when you turn it on the green light comes on and then a red blinking light starts flashing and the camera shuts off


The batteries you are using aren't powerful enough most likely. try getting high powered digital camera batteries??

you have a picture upside down if u turned a picture on ur computer put memory card in computer and turn picture how u took it decode error will go away

Your iMac came with iPhoto. You should be able to download your photos with it. There is a freeware app that may work as well. You can find it here: http://www.bluechillies.com/details/20859.html

Need help quick


I had the same problem just this morning...but I fixed it!

If you have manipulated any of the files on your camera...by opening them on your computer and modifying them...then the camera won't decode them. This is because the dimensions change and exceed the dimensions of the camera. Try returning your pictures in your camera file to their original state and saving it to the camera. Don't forget to delete the ones that don't work. This should work.
