Connectivity problem. Without knowing your models and their available channels etc., it's very difficult to advise you exactly.
Broadly though ...... you need to get the input signal routing sorted.
Plug your aerial into the Freeview box. Make a connection from its RF out, (beside the aerial 'in' socket) to the aerial 'in' socket on the JVC. Run yet another co-axial connection from the JVC RF 'out' to the television.
Now - connect a scart lead between the JVC and the TV. Power off the freeview. Switch your TV to accept A/V - to show the JVC on screen. Read/go through the 'Set up' procedure on the JVC to scan in the available broadcast channels. When done - connect using a scart between the Freeview box and the JVC. This will be located on either the L1 or L2 channel selection.
IF as it seems you are using the freeview to watch all your programmes - and record in then you are simply watching and recording 'live' change the Freeview programme and the JVC gets that same one arriving in (and sending to the TV)
Unless you need to record Freeview only output - always record from the aerial input. You select via the television remote (and 'TV' selected) and the appropriate channel.
Complex to explain - hope it helps. The one thing to remember - is to make one set of changes at a time - check the result is okay, before moving to the next.

hi, i have the same device, with the same problem, i was told by sony service centre managment that this is a known error that is being researched to find a permanent resolution. They have no fix for it yet and said they will contact me when a solution is available, the only solution at the moment is to manually set timers for programs airing on channel ten, eleven and ONE.

How do i record a program and then watch another one, with the Magnavox H2160MW9

The unit is not a DVR capable of recording one channel and watching another. You can only watch or record one program at a time. Sorry.

I purchased a MDR513h/f7 hdd & dvd Player/recorder for my cable TV. I can not watch one channel while recording another. Comast said I must have a dual turner and that is what I purchased (I think)....

This model has only one tuner, I'm afraid. You can only watch one channel at a time, unless you split the cable signal going into it. One side goes to the recorder, the other to the TV. Then you use the single tuner in the recorder to record and the TV's tuner to watch the other channel.

Satelite tv through my dvr-550h

satellite tuners and DVDs have different remote, unless your using a universal remote with satellite tuner command program recording, you'll need to program the time especially the allotment.then make sure you sat tuner is tuned to the station you want to record.after setting the time and station, its all don't need the DVD's remote to change the channel.

Record and watch different channels with freesat

I believe that the Humax can only output 1 channel and because it has no built in hdd and twin channel capabilty that is all you can record 1 channel (unlike sky +/sky HD) so that means also that unless you watch a different source (like the picture from your aerial (terrestial channels)) you are stuck with having to watch the channel you record

Watching another channel while recording

Hi there! Sorry but you can't unless you have My Sky/HD recorder. The sky decoder is simply a one channel watch decoder. You can only record a sky channel and watch the channels normally provided via your VHF and UHF aerials connected to the decoder or vice versa.
My Sky fixes that although you cannot record to a dvd disc on this thing and the privilege comes at a price of course!

Hdd recorder / recording & watching cable channels

yeah actually that is kinda simple. Like the old vcr recorders you can just put a splitter between the cable (input) and your dvd hdd and your tv.
that is an easy 3 dollar solution

Recording and viewing different channels

The EX75 has only one tuner circuit, so you can't watch a different channel from the one you're recording. To do this you will either need a set-top box for Freeview or a Freeview compatible TV.
