Umax Astra 2000U Scanner (by 2 users)

I have a UMAZ Astra 2000U scanner that I have not used in a long time. I can get it to scan but the screen comes up all black. The scanner light moves and seems to be scanning yet comes up with nothing. If I brighten the seetings the screen is more of a grey color, but it is all the same gray color with no picture.

I HAVE THE UMAX 4450 AND AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM . TRIED EVERYTHING I CAN THINK OF. HELP!!!
