Assuming you have Windows as your operating system, you can partition the disc within the windows. However, you mustn't do that to your Windows drive, only to secondary drive. This means:
If you have C:/ and D:/ in your computer, you should take a look which drive contains the windows files, usually it's drive C:/. Then you can partition drive D:.
However, if you only have drive C:/, you will have to format the whole computer, and then set the partitions.
Assuming you have two drives and you wish to partition the secondary drive, you can right click on your drive and click on Manage. It's quite easy to continue from there. Just make sure this is not the only drive you have...
