Open Question

I've managed to prise the sim card slot away from the main phone body. Can this be fixed easily and cheaply or shall I just give up on it? Cheers,

My SIM seems to small for the internal slot

sim cards come with 2 press out sections
the outer section for maxi card slots and a inner section for mini slots
if you haven't thrown away the small piece around the sim card you can hold it in place as you insert the sim card in the slot

Red light and blank screen, will it work again, can it be fixed?

Yes your phone can be fixed.

The problem probably could be from the power supply or from the panel.

If it is the power supply, then it most likely could be that it got exposed to a high current and the board got burnt.

To fix this, all you have to do is to replace the panel.

To replace the panel;
  1. Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Two screws need to be removed,
  2. Run something like a credit card under the camera surround. It's stuck down with double sided tape so will come away quite easily. You now have access to two more screws. Remove these screws.
  3. Run something like a credit card around the join of the front and back cover in order to release the front cover.
  4. The front cover will still be attached by a wire. The connector from the wire attaches a bit like a plug and socket and can be levered off with little force.
  5. Two more screws, need to be removed.
  6. Now lift the main body of the phone away from the back cover.
  7. Turn the main body of the phone over and you'll see a ribbon connector. This attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it up, away from the phone, to unplug.
  8. Then you replace the panel of the phone,
  9. The LCD screen can now be lifted away from the phone.
  10. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.
take care

Says smartchip rejected

remove the sim card from the phone and clean the sim card slot with a cotton wool dabbed in methylated spirit and insert the sim back into the slot, put it on and test it.

If this does not work then you should replace the sim card holder.a repairer can help you with that.

Just got a i9 phone want to insert the sim card

it doesnt matter which one you use. if you place it on the far bottem and with the chip facing up that is sim card slot 2 if you use the top slot actually elevated off the board a bit with the chip down that is sim card slot 2. the only thing that matters is when you set up your phone it gives you the option of sim 1 OR 2. I use sim 1 and have my 2 disabled. it will tell you once its inserted which one you are in on the front display exampl it will say sim 1 t-mobile. go to for detailed on this phone.

2. remove battery cover and battery. You will see two "star" drive screws at the bottom of the phone.
3. remove these two screws.
4. working from the memory card slot gently prise the cover away from the main body of the phone.
5. The key pad is now easily accessible from the front of the phone and can now be easily removed.

Hope this helps

How to remove the sim card from w200i?

Sim cards are pretty hardy and it's unlikely you will damage it. Most sims now fit into a slide slot which means you need to bend the card slightly by lifting up the edge to slide it out.

Hope this helps,
