Either:

1. the water does not get into the dishwasher open the dishwasher 3-4 times during cycle, you should see some water at least once, if not - check water valve, water level float and water pressure.
2. the pump is clogged - there is water, the motor will run but no water is circulated. Check pump filters, check chopper and impeller.
3. motor in main pump is not working - could be caused by something stuck on the impeller or chopper or could be a problem with the motor itself or control board. Check if line voltage is coming to the motor during wash/rinse cycle.

Good luck,

Build up of dirt in tub making clothes dirty... How do I clean inside of machine?

If you use powder detergent ( clay carrier) the build up is from undissolved powder ( clay)
It forms cakes between the spin tub and the outer bowl
The fix is to pull the washer apart and physically remove the caked up mud from all parts of the machine
The prevention of future mud is to use liquid detergents rather than powders
It works like this powder detergents have a small percentage of actual detergent in use and that is dried onto a clay base as a transporter agent
In the wash , the detergent is released but the clay will not dissolve
Most is pumped out with each spin but a certain amount remains , dries and starts the dirt process through the clothes
With liquid detergents there is the same amount of actual detergent but the carrier is water and that is diluted in the spin and completely flushed away

How to fix leak from soap dispensor

I assume you have water coming out of the dispenser and running down the front of the machine. You probably have a build up of soap powder in the water inlet and it is restricting the flow and backing up.
Soap powder is only partially soluble in cold water and a residue of undissolved powder builds up over time, one of the reasons I use a liquid detergent. Remove the dispenser tray, it should pull out fairly easily with just a little resistance. Try and clear any blockages, hot water is best as it dissolves better. Clean the tray you have removed and re-assemble.

Chalky wash

Try dissolving the detergent first, if it doesn't dissolve in the water by itself, change detergents.

Tablet not desolving after quick wash cycle

Find out whether your quick cycle is a wash cycle or a rinse only. If it is a wash it's obviously too short, and the tablet is not dissolving. You do not want undissolved tablets because they will contaminate your rinse water and u end up with soap on the dishes. You can switch to powder if a tablet isn't going to dissolve quick enough on your quick cycle.

My washer will only dislove the powder saop on warm or hot cycle and now it won't let any water in to the tub at all why

You MUST use "HE" (High Efficiency-Low Suds) type detergent--but to use the correct amount.
Nearly all brands of "HE" detergent have incorrect instructions.

The correct amount is as follows:

HE: (2) Tablespoons Per Wash load

HE 2X (double concentrated) : (1) Tablespoon

HE 3X (triple concentrated): (1) Teaspoon

The tablet in the detergent dispenser does not disolve during washing operation.

I had the same problem until I realized that I was loading the dishwasher so that there were items in front of the dispenser. This kept it from opening completely and prevented water from thoroughly contacting and dissolving the tablet. Also, make sure that your water heater is set high enough to dissolve the cube. It also helps to run hot water so that it is in the pipe, ready to go into the dishwasher when it's turned on. This is NOT necessary if you have a high temp wash button.
I hope this helps...it worked for me! If either of these suggestions solve your problem, please let Fixya know by rating my solution.
Good luck!

What can I do about growing mildew in the area I put detergent?

you need to lift the top and take apart the dispenser area and give it a real good cleaning including the hoses. you also need to make sure that at least once a month you do a hot wash and rinse to dissolve the build up of soap scum that a warm wash will not disolve. hope this breakdown will help you somewhat.250

Im getting spots on my clothes when they come out of the wash and they wont wash out. We dont have oily clothes and use the right about of detergent and softner. What would cause the oil looking spots...

Those spots are the results of undissolved soaps built up in the machine over a period of time. Very possibly to much soap is being used on each wash as well. It creates a thick film around the inner drum that eventually breaks away and deposits itself on the clothes in small quantities. To remove, that could be costly, so the next best thing to do would be to run at least 2 hot washes a day without clothes until soap eventually dissolves. It will take a period of time.until particles clear.

Clothes stink on top load model

Continually washing with cold water and liquid detergent can cause a buildup of undissolved detergent between the inner and outer tubs (unseen). This buildup of detergent feels like grease and will pick up dirt from each load and hold it on the grease surface. Over time...the dirt held in the greasy detergent can give off an odor.

This problem may be able to be cleared up by running many loads of hot water (to dissolve the detergent) with no clothes or detergent. Switching to powder detergent will also keep the liquid detergent gel from forming. If you like liquid I recommend using hot water for ALL your white loads. This should make every third or fourth load hot and help dissolve buildup from previous loads.

If you are not in the habit of using cold water and liquid detergent consider other sources of the odor. Some typical examples are sewer or septic backup through the drain and into the machine between the tubs where you can't see it. Also, the laundry is usually in the basement if you have one. The basement is the lowest part of the house drainage system and if you are developing a slow drain you may find some dirty water backing into the machine if it can't go down the drain quickly enough. Usually these drainage issues show up as a floor leak when you drain the washer in the spin cycles...but not always.

Good Luck.
