Embassy shredder keeps running after it's done shredding. It won't stop running.

Hi Brenda:
My shredder, different make, occasionally has the same problem, especially when I try to put too many sheets of paper through at one time.
It happens because the paper jams in the cutter wheels and holds
a switch lever in the on position.
Step 1) Use the reverse switch (mine has one) to back the paper up a bit, then switch it to forward. Repeat this a few times and it might clear itself.

Step 2) If step 1 did not work, unplug the machine and use needle nose pliers, a small swrew driver, or any other handy tool, and remove all of the paper bits from the cutter assemble. Once this is done, it should work fine.

1600mx wont run in forward over load light comes on

Most common reason is that there is paper would around the cutters, imposing an additional load on the machine. You will need to access the cutter assembly (disconnect all power) and manually remove all of the paper that has impinged between the cutters.

If you have run any labels or paper with gummed strips through the cutters, you may wish to consider throwing this one away and buying new. (In all fairness, it "can" be cleaned, but it is going to be a real dickens of a job to do).

If you decide to keep your shredder and clean the cutter assembly, remember to oil it on a regular basis per the instruction manual.

As for me, I use Fellows shredder oil
Fellowes Shredder Oil 12 oz Bottle with Extension Nozzle 35250
and oil my machine every time I dump the cuttings. I run a bead of oil in a serpentine pattern over a sheet of paper and then just shred it. (If you have never oiled the cutters, it may be too late to do so now. Something you need to do on an on-going basis).

Can I replace the blade on my paper guillotine?

On a paper cutter with blades that slide on a track you are able to replace the blades but not on a guillotine, it appears the only solution is to buy a new one.

Paper cutter

You should try replacing the cutter assembly with a new one. They are rather inexpensive ($50) to purchase and easy to install.

The only other thing I can think would cause your problem is if something is stuck in the groove by the cutter guide that would cause it to disengage while cutting.

There is 2 inch black smudges (tire tracks) across every page I print.

This would indicate that either the developer ,Drum or Fuser requires attention .If you stop the paper before the fuser unit is the mark there? if not then it would point to the fuser unit.

Motor and cutter do not rotate - strip cut model

Soak the clog with dishwashing detergent and a little bit of water overnight. This should dissolve the paper.

The error light on the Epson TM-T88IV keeps flashing whats wrong with it?

The following is from the Epson Users Manual:
Troubleshooting
No lights on the control panel
Check the power supply cable connections and the power outlet.
ERROR LED on (not flashing) with no printing
If PAPER OUT is on, the roll paper is not installed or is near the end.
If PAPER OUT is off, the printer cover is not closed properly.
ERROR LED flashing with no printing (and no paper jam)
Printing stops if the head overheats and resumes automatically when it cools.
If overheating is not the cause, turn the printer off, and after 10 seconds, back on.
Removing Jammed Paper
CAUTION:
Do not touch the thermal head because it can be very hot after printing.
1. Turn the printer off and press the cover open button.
2. Remove jammed paper, reinstall the roll, and close the cover.
3. If paper is caught in the cutter and you cannot open the printer cover, open
the cutter cover as shown in illustration J.
4. Turn the knob until you see a triangle in the opening. This returns the cutter
blade to the normal position. There is a label near the cutter to assist you. See
illustration K.
5. Close the cutter cover.
6. Open the printer cover and remove the jammed paper.
Cleaning the Thermal Head
CAUTION:
After printing, the thermal head can be very hot. Be careful not to touch it and
to let it cool before you clean it. Do not damage the thermal head by touching
it with your fingers or any hard object.
Turn off the printer, open the printer cover, and clean the thermal elements of the
thermal head with a cotton swab moistened with an alcohol solvent (ethanol, or
IPA).
Epson recommends cleaning the thermal head periodically (generally every
3 months) to maintain receipt print quality.

It sounds like your print head is overheating. Clean as instructed above.

My star tsp600 has stopped working properly. The auto cutter no longer works and the receipt paper does not advance fully.

You will need to take the printer in for a service. The cutter is Jammed and that causes the fault on the paper feed.

TS-4500 not working

It is a light duty model. Probably jammed the cutter assembly. Will it reverse? Try oiling the cutter. Drop a few drops of vegetable oil at various spots through the cutter.
