Question about Toshiba Satellite X205 Notebook

1 Answer

Need help with the area around my keyboard.

I have a Tosiba satellite x205-9800. I recently found a crack on the frame around my keyboard. I'm not sure what to call that area or how to fix it. I really want to get it fixed before the crack gets any bigger. Any help thanks? I've looked up the keyboard already and its just the keyboard that shows up, my keyboard is fine its the cover thing around the keyboard that needs to be repaired.

I'm sorry but there's really not much you can do to fix this and make it look OK. Your best option is to get a replacement cover from Toshiba.

You could try glue and other home resources but your'e risking permanent damage to the hardware below the cover and a really poor looking laptop.

Best of luck

My screen on my toshiba laptop P775 comes on but looks broken

If you mean broken as in it has a crack, it has liquid effect leak or dark then yes you have a broken lcd

Replacing is not a difficult as it seems, mainly by removing a few screws around the frame hidding under the rubber pads, then sometime you also need to remove the keyboard/power control panel, then its jsut a case of removing the broken lcd and buying a replacement panel and fitting it.
heres me taking a panel out on another laptop but gives you the idea.
If your in London, then I can do the repair for, cost of parts + 20pounds + return delivery costs.

See if floor pan is cracked, seat frames do crack on these, inspect better around welds and riveted areas. see back rest frame too for cracks

Spill soda on my laptop keyboard

It is likely the only problem is that the soda is causing the keys to stick. There is probably no damage to any other internal components. Usually, laptop keyboards have a metal-based frame/tray that will protect the internal components from minor spills.

If you want to get rid of the cracking sound, you'll need to purchase a replacement keyboard from the laptop manufacturer or another source such as eBay, and then remove the sticky keyboard and replace it with the newly purchased one.

Tosiba saterlite A100 pro- how do i dimantle

1. Release the following 10 latches on the switch cover, in that order:
- Six bottom latches (near LCD/ Hinge side)
- Four front latches
2. Remove the speaker cover.

Remove 2 screws holding keyboard in place lift up and
Remove the connector CN11 on main board and keyboard.

The odds of "Repairing" the keyboard are practically nill, I would use an external until a replacement could arrive. LINK
