Question about Samsung HCN4226W 42" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Samsung HCN4226W yello stain around the screen

I have a Samsung HCN4226W rear projection TV that have a yellow stain around the screen. Sometimes the stain is bigger than other days. I think it depends on how low it is turned on. I have read articles of yellow stains, green blogs but they are related to Sony TVs and do not offer a solution for the samsung ones.
When I use the perfect focus function, the blue color seems to be out of focus.

Any idea on how to troubleshoot this?

OK, I'll check that. But i will need to add that a year ago a technician repaired the convergence module (he just repaired not replace it with a new one)because the colors were offset and when trying to focus the colors they were not aligned. So, he repaired the module but I don't think he did a good job. The blue color still out of focus when I enter in the TV setting screen. DO you think that replacing the convergence module will help?

Its a problem with the screen, Plasma depends upon a chemical and eletrical impluses to create a display... I think you might just want to change the screen.

reason for the discoloration is that something is wrong with that part of the screen so when you place more power to it, it becomes more visible

Well that will account for the problem as well,, You should definitely have someone take a look at it. But did he say what could have caused it to be damaged ??? i mean something like that dont just happen on it own.. Any way if he didnt do a good job in the first place it could have resulted in plasma displacement on the screen to to damaging it...

You should have some check the convergence module

and let them try to assess what might have damaged it, It cant be power cause it would have blown other things before that..

If that doesnt solve the problem then its your screen...

The convergence IC has gone out and is located on the Main bd or the Power supply bd depending on the specific model and must be replaced and a Full convergence alignment must be performed to return your tv to a watchable condition. Only a Samsung trained tech can do this.
