Check out the thermo switch first, it is installed on the heater coil box, check for continuity through it with a self powered test light.

Whirlpool dryer heating sporadically?

Remove the lower front panel and turn dryer on. The ignitor should glow bright orange first. After Ignitor glows brightly the next thing will be the flame lighting as the gas valve opens with a click. All this should happen within about a minute or so.

If flame comes on but goes off quickly It's likely one of the Gas valve coils is opening a break in the coil as the coil heats up. This coil will shrink when cool and be able to run again. The coils are purchased as a kit.

If ignitor goes off and no flame comes on the coil kit is likely needed because one coil is fully broken inside its case. If flame goes on but shuts off shortly the problem is as described above and the kit is needed.

There is a flame safety assembly on the can above the burner. If the airflow is poor. the flame tip may activate that safety and turn the flame off. Or the flame switch may be open and not allow the flame to come on at all.

The Flame switch can be tested for continuity with an ohmeter but the valves may ONLY show bad with power applied and can not be tested with a meter as they will test good.. Good Luck

The symptom you have indicates weak solenoid coils. The gas valve should open and the burner should ignite every time the glow bar igniter glows before it fades back off. Weak solenoid coils will usually open the gas valve until the solenoids become hot from the current and flame and then they don't have enough power to open the gas valve.

Replace both solenoid coils and your dryer will most heat and operate normally again. In order to access and replace the solenoid coils you will need to remove the front panel.

Here is the coil kit to order.

Whirlpool gas dryer # LGB 6300 no heat

There are 3 parts that would cause the no heat problem. It is probably just one that is the problem, but the other 2 will soon follow. You will need to replace the "coil kit", the "flame sensor" and the "igniter".
Here is the coil kit.
Here is the flame sensor.
Here is the igniter.

After replacing the 3 parts you will get years of service from your dryer.

Kenmore Dryer #11071804000, The heat is okay for about 3 minutes, After 3 minutes the burners stop working but it continues to spin. Than it stops heating.

Sounds like failing coils on the burner or a faulty thermostat. Coils are cheap on ebay.

Whirlpool gas dryer Model #WGD5530SQ0 not heating properly

If your dryer heats when you first turn it on and after a few minutes it does'nt. check the ignitor to see if it is glowing. It should glow bright then you will hear a click and the burner will light. If the ignitor glows bright but you hear a click but no flame and if you watch this for several minutes and this process continues of glow then glow goes out no flame, then you have a bad burner coil. There are 2 black solenoids sitting on top of gas valve. One of them is shorting out after it warms up. Replace both solenoids. You can usually get them as a kit from parts store.

The flame stays on four about 4 minutes then goes out.At set intervals you can see the ignitor coming on but then dies out just as fast. I have changed the fuse and the two wire thermostat but the problem...

You need to replace the 2 coils on the burner valve ( they come in a kit ) . They will warm up , as the dryer heats , and 1 , will " open " internally , causing the dryer not to heat , until the dryer sits for a while , and the coil cools back down .
They are easily replaceable , as only 2 screws hold them on . When getting them , take your model number with you , so you get the correct kit .

The dryer will not heat. Think the heating element is bad. Where is it located on the dryer?

it is located at the back of the drum inside an oval housing. if the element coil is not broken, you may need the thermal cut off kit which is part #3977393, it contains 2 thermostats. the element part #is 3403585. hope this helps.

Whirlpool lg9521xt gas dryer- no heat or flame. I replaced thermal fuse and coil kit, but didn't solve problem. What's next ? The igniter ?

Remove the bottom panel and start dryer . If you see the red glow , then ignitor is ok . Disconnect the plug (2 or 3 wires ) going to the burner and check for 120 volts . If no red glow , replace the ignitor pt # 279311 . If not 120 volts , then , normally , thermal fuse is bad (white piece with 2 small terminals on blower box ) is bad .

The burner valve coils (2 in a kit) need replaced . After electricity goes thru them , they will warm up , causing one of them to "open" (short internally). It will not work again till the coil cools back down . Only 2 screws hold the coil bracket on , so , they are not hard to change .Don't have to turn the gas off but do unplug dryer . The burner valve is located in the front of the dryer by removing the front panel .
