Question about Hitachi 43FDX20B 43" Rear Projection Television
If colors are skewed, go into the customer menu and select convergence--if red or blue is wacked out and will not move--the convergence chips this set uses need to be replaced.
The 43FDX20B model uses two of the STK-392-120 chips and is fairly easy to repair for this problem.
If you have some skill and can solder I can tell you how to fix it---you can buy a pair of the chips on Ebay for under 13 dollars plus shipping.
Most shops are going to get 300 or more for this repair so if you or someone you know can do it you can save the set and a lot of money--
What it involves is replacing both chips and any bad resistors around them that got taken out---easy to check.
Let me know if you have questions or want instructions--I am here to help.
If this information helps take a moment and rate this solution as I do this here for FREE.
