It sound like you may have a motherboard problem you maybe looking at getting a new motherboard if the fan starts but nothing else happens.
its not a power problem this will be dealing more with the motherboard its self. try removing the hard drive if the screen says no hard disk found then your board is most likely ok. try rebooting and hitting f8 to insure that the computer is not stuck in a hibornation state. this is not likely but possible. do you see lights in the front of the computer? this will let you know that your getting enough power flowing thru the unit. if all this fails your motherboard has gone bad on you

Modem on and nothing on screen and fan runs loud

It sounds like one of three things. Two are pretty unlikely.1. RAM has gone bad. Really unlikely. Usually if this happens the computer will not boot but beep at you.2. Video Card has gone bad. Also unlikely. Usually the computer will sound like normal except you won't have any video.
3. Motherboard has gone bad. Most likely. The Motherboard has either suffered a voltage shock or has blown a component. The only real way to get this repaired to by going through Gateway / Emachines.

My emachines d3315 will power up but there is no video, monitor displays "no signal"

This is quite a common problem, if everything has power then you need to look beyond, this sounds like its your video card, if you have more than one video card slot (these look different to the pci slots) then you can swap them over to see if its the slot, if not then you need a new video card my friend, if thats the case get the model number off of the card you have and search it on amazon

How to do a complete system restore on a emachines D3315 desk top

All eMachines have a System Recovery in Start, All Programs. You have to create the recovery disk, then you can use them to recover your desktop.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response. Happy Holidays!

Battery light flashes but know power

Is there any video at all? If there is no video, it could be CPU, memory, MB. IF there is video, it could be hard drive, memory.

No boot, New PS, Green light on MB lights, No Fans running

Bottom line: Either your power supply or (hopefully not) the mother board has gone bad.
Replace power supply (remove old one), take to local independent computer shop, ask them for new unit. Should be around $50.00. - no more. After reinstall, if still no fans, boot, etc. Replace motherboard or buy a new machine. MB's installed probably will run you around $250.00-ish.
Good luck.

Emachines d3315 video failed - no signal to monitor.

Is the system work using the old video card? if yes then, use it and then reconfigure the in the bios setup using the PCI video card. You can insert it simultaneously and then use first the old video in preparation for the configuration using the new PCI video card
