The automatic scanner tray on top cannot successfully pull a piece of paper through. The corner of the paper is getting caught on something inside and gets crumpled, which causes a jam error. I was curious if there was an easy way to open it up to see what the cause is. There are no visible obstructions from the outside.

- I played with it long enough to figure out how to disassemble enough of what I needed to discover and remove the problem. Someone scanned a document that had a post-it attached. It came off in the roller and got crumpled up.
Paper is often guided via mylar /plastic strips within coopiers. It is possible that a certain section has been bent and is obstructing the paper path. It is not too difficult to open the document feeder - just be careful in remembering what came from where :) The obstruction could also be a piece of paper that was torn while removing a prior paper jam.
