Camera will not power on

Assuming that the battery is OK, there are two switches that if not operating the camera will not power on - one for the SD card door and one for the battery door. Both must be closed for the camera to power on. Also, the main switch is a micro switch. You can see the battery door switch with the door open. Carefully check to make sure the little arm is closing. Sometimes if the battery door is worn it will it not close enough to close the switch - try pushing up the battery door all the way and see if it then turns on. You would have to remove the back cover to check the on/off switch, and to replace it you have to replace the entire back cover assembly. The other common cause is one of the bottom board screws coming loose and shorting the board. Most of these problem require professional repair, but if it is the battery door you can usually find them on eBay.

My canon ixus 75 has no power.

Hi,

There are many ways to troubleshoot this problem.
First try to insert new batteries and then tap on the sides of the camera and turn on the camera. It will switch on if the problem is due to loose connection.

Secondly, clean the battery terminal before inserting new batteries and check through a multimeter, whether the battery terminal is receiving the power properly from the battery. If there is no power, you need to contact canon to get the element replaced. If there is power in terminal and still not switching on there is some chance that lens is stuck inside, and it is not allowing to switch on. So clean the lens and try to turn on the camera it will work fine.

If you still have the problem then it tends to be the problem of the circuit board inside the camera.

Hope this helps.

Shane

Camera wont turn on

Check the internal contacts for bent, broken or improper connections.
Try inserting and pressing the battery in the camera while keeping the battery door open to see if the camera powers (This may help you determine if the battery is being held in correctly by the battery holder or the battery door.)
Cameras using AA type batteries
Check that the battery door closes properly and is snapped into place properly. Make sure there are no cracks or any defections on the battery door.

Not turning on

The batteries probably need to be replaced. Be sure that any batteries seat properly and tightly. You may have to tape the battery door shut with strong tape to keep the contact tight. This type of damage is expensive to repair compared to the cost of the cameras. You can take it in and have it looked at, but be sure to get an estimate and then you can make an educated decision on whether to repair or replace it.

Best wishes to you and Thank you for using Fix Ya!
