Question about Medion md40298 Notebook
On the bottom of the Laptop are two covers held on with screws - the smaller one is the hard drive - the larger one covers the processor fan, wireless card and memory
Turn off the laptop, take out the battery, touch something metal attached to your house (cooker, radiator, etc) to ground yourself and stop any static discharge blowing your computer into oblivion and unscrew the 7screws on the larger panel. Place them in a pot!! Gently ease the plate up using the thumb hole - DO NOT POKE ANYTHING UNDER THE EDGE TO LIFT IT - you might damage something!!
The memory on my laptop was hidden under a thin sheet of black plastic at the front edge of the laptop. Hold back the plastic and use your thumbs to move the two silver lugs to the side - the memory will pop up and if you only have one memory card in place you will see the slot for the second one. Before you touch the new memory out of the packet touch the radiator again (I use to build satellites so I'm paranoid about static!!).
Place the memory into the slot (it will only fit one way round and then gently ease it flat - the lugs will automatically engage - do the same with the second slot. Lower the plastic sheet, replace the cover and fasten the screws - not too tightly!!
Replace the battery, turn on the laptop, and if it doesn't work then I accept no responsibility whatsoever - it worked with mine!!

I'm not familiar with this specific laptop, but it should be the same as almost all laptops. On the bottom there will be a cover connected to the rest of the case with a screw, when you remove it you should be able to add\remove RAM modules. It's not too complex, but it depends on how technically versed you are.
