You can buy them almost anywhere that sells batteries. Just pop the door open and replace the old battery. Maybe a less complicated camera would be better for you.

Remove the battery holder. remove the screws from the metal plate. gently raise the plate and remove the battery. remember the different size screw lengths. the battery can be bought at any drug store or camera store.
it may take awhile for systems to turn on.

I purchased a Ryobi drill with Lithium batteries (Large/with gauge, small without gauge) in June 2009. The large battery lasted about 3 months and started holding less and less charge (yellow, then red on...

Batteries must be completely dead before recharging or battery life is shortened.large battery is probably defective contact Ryobi to replace battery they while probably send you new batteries for free if you tell them you are going to stop buy their products.Tell them about both batteries they will probably replace both for no charge

Hardwired smoke detector ocassionally beeps

I ran into this problem about a year after my buddy moved into a new luxury home in Orange County.
The problem is that the battery needs to be replaced! Yes, there is a battery in your hardwired smoke detector!
Since most of these are in extremely high vaulted ceilings, and very hard to get to, you want to replace the alkaline battery with a Lithium battery.
It probably takes a 9-Volt battery. Go to Frys or RadioShack or Smart & Final (they have the best Lithium battery prices here) and buy a 9-Volt lithium battery.
THEN climb up the tall ladder and opo the case open and replace the battery.
The battery is a backup power supply, in case a fire hits when the power is off (happens more often than you might think). This (battery back-up power) is a REQUIREMENT in California, part of the fire code.
Have fun!

Cant get it to power up

I had exactly the same problem. Here is how I resolved it. 1. There is a reset button inside the battery compartment, in the center, between the C cells. Try pushing it with a paper clip or similar item. 2. If that doesn't work, replace the C cells. 3. If that doesn't work, try replacing the lithium backup battery. It is located between the C cells, in a compartment with an arrow. 4. I finally did all three at the same time, replacing the C cells, lithium battery, and resetting the system. The radio has worked fine for two days now. Good luck.

I have Blankpunkt Travalpilot Lucca , the battery doesnt charge up in the house or on a journey. I think it is possibley a dud battery. I have owned this navigation system for about year & am pleased...

Hello Tiptoe,

I'm not sure if these are the answers.

I finally heard from Blaupunkt and have the part number you require:
  • Apologies for the delay, there has been a change of part number and I
couldn't check the pricing information due to website problems.
  • The part number for the battery is 8619 003 386, and the price including
    VAT and delivery is £24.40
  • Please don't hesitate to contact us should you wish to order one. We
accept all major credit and debit cards as payment.
  • Tel. 01249 817370 Fax. 01249 817346
However, research leads me to believe that the battery is not at fault. The battery charging circuit may have 'lost' the battery because it was discharged completely. As suggested by the following I found online.
  • If a Li-ion battery is left discharged after use, the self-discharge will further drain the pack and eventually trip the protection circuit at about 2.5 volts per cell. At this point, the charger will no longer recognize the battery and the pack appears dead. Only specialized equipment or advanced battery analyzer will be able to re-activate the protection circuit and recharge the battery.
Charge for about 30 minutes before storage if the Li-ion battery is depleted.
Do not stockpile lithium-ion batteries; and avoid buying dated stock. The aging process cannot be reversed and cycling will not improve.
  • The self-discharge of the lithium-ion battery is 5% in the first 24 hours after charge, and then reduces to 1% to 2% per month thereafter. The safety circuit adds about 3%.
  • High cycle count and aging have little effect on the self-discharge of lithium-based batteries.
It suggests to me that a specialist will be able to get the unit to 'accept' the old battery again. Putting in a new battery will not solve the problem in itself.

Hope I have helped.

Battery / camera does not turn on

It may or may not be a battery problem. A completely dead battery will not turn the green, red and blue lights on at all, like my bloated and dead original battery. This camera uses a custom lithium-polymer battery that built just for this camera. I don't think you can order one from Che-ez. But if you are savvy enough, you can re-build the battery by taking the old battery pack and the protection circuit board out with a soldering iron, keeping the plastic frame and replace the pack with a similar one that you can buy on ebay for less than US$10 by soldering it back on to the contacts on the frame. Just search "Lithium Polymer 380mAh" on ebay and that is the one that gave mine a second life. WARNING: Do it at your own risk, don't hold me liable if you lose a finger or more from mishandling the potentially explosive Li-ion battery pack. Good luck!

Camera dead, lithium battery uncharged for six months

If your sd400 is like mine, both batteries were dead within 18 months with very minimal use. Try a new one (battery).
