Question about HP Pavilion a805n (PS519AA) PC Desktop

1 Answer

No power HP Pavillion A805NI was using my internet when the computer froze. I was not able to turn it off with the on and off switch and in the end I had to turn it off thru the power strip. I waited a few seconds before I turned it back on, but nothing happened. It wouldn't turn on at all. I tried a different outlet, made sure that all the cables were in place, but to no avail. The computer won't turn on. The power supply has a green light that is blinking when the power is turned on, but that is about all.

HP Pavillion a1514n Won't Turn On

Yes even with the green light on it could still be the power supply. Have you pulled the power, opened the case, and pulled the BOIS battery? Could be the BOIS needs to be reset. You might also pull all the memory chips, turn it on and see if you get a beep code. I have had that happen in the past. Then I would replace the power supply (if you have an old one laying around use it to test, with just the MOBO plugged in). If the power supply fails, that leaves only the mother board as the issue.

Good luck, I hope one of these suggestions works for you.

Try clear cmos, if the motherboard bad you must wait so long, maybe you can turn on computer, and they can work perfect, but when you turn off computer on power suply, you can´t again turn on computer.
If this so you have trouble with motherboard.

Check the cable going to your monitor and from the monitor going to the back of your computer, take it out and put it back in. Check also the power cable of your monitor.

Hooking up speakers

On the back of your computer tower (that thing with the power button on the front) you should see three small headphone jack looking thingies, with colored bands around them. Your speaker cord plugs into the green one, if you have a microphone, it goes in the pink one.

Your speaker set should have a wall wart type power supply, plug that into any convenient outlet, and plug the other end into the proper jack on your speakers.

The volume knob on your speakers is also an on-off switch, turn it on.

Hp pavillion power problem

Perform the following steps, in order, until power is restored or it is determined that there is a hardware failure:
CAUTION: This product contains components that are easily damaged by ElectroStatic Discharge (ESD). To reduce the chance of ESD damage, work over a non-carpeted floor, use a static dissipative work surface (like a conductive foam pad), and wear an ESD wrist strap that is connected to a grounded surface, like the metal frame of a PC.
1. Disconnect all cables from the computer, including the power cord.
2. With the power cord disconnected , press the power button on the front of the computer for five seconds.
Plug in the power cord and test to see if the computer can turn on. If not, continue using these steps.
NOTE: If the power supply fan makes an inconsistent grinding sound or stops and starts erratically, replace the power supply.
3. With the power cord removed, flip the red voltage selector switch to the opposite position. Wait about five seconds, and then switch the red voltage selector switch back to its original location. Ensure that the voltage selector switch is on the correct setting, 115V for North America.
Performing this step ensures that the voltage switch is engaged and set correctly for your country/region.
4. Remove all extension cords, power strips, surge protectors and any converters that remove ground. Plug the power cable directly to the wall outlet and test to see if the computer can turn on.

Try cleaning the RAM first. Also open the battery and reinsert it. Then see, if the problem remains, then let us know the exact error numbers.
Please mention model number too

I have a hp pavillion 710 pc when it is plugged into the mains supply the power light comes on for a second and then dies out, would this be the power unit which I plug into

I think I had this same problem once before. It sounds familiar but could use a few more details as to exactly what happens. From what you have said so far though it sounds like either the main power to the PC is switched off, or your power supply for the machine might be bad. First I would try looking in the back of the computer. On some of them there is a little switch usually towards the top that allows you to turn the computers power on and off. If you plug into the wall it usually will come on for a second before turning off and then when you go to turn you computer on if the switch in the back is off you computer will not start if you use the normal power button in the front. I hope that fixes your problem. If that is not the case please give me a few more details on it and I will do my best to help you get to the bottom of it :). Good luck.

If it beeps in a pattern (example 2 long 3 short) then I would need to know the pattern. With that pattern I could try to determine when the faulty component is.
