How do I get my L1 and L2 back on my TI 83

You can recreate lists at any time. To create a new and empty L1, press

2ND [{] STO 2ND [L1]

{ is the shifted function of the ( key, STO is just to the left of the 1 and 4 keys, and L1 is the shifted function of the 1 key.

I am curently taking Statistics and when I hit "stat" then enter information into the L1, L2 , L3 area etc then I go to stat again and press calc and choose option 1 then in the list area I need...

I have followed your description and entered bogus data in Lists L1, L2, and L3.
I hit STAT then CALC then Option 1, which is 1-Var Stats. In this context you have only one set of data. If the data set contains many repeated values you can enter the frequency for each (repeated) data item in List L2, inserting 1 if an item is not repeated.
Thus when you do 1-Var Statistics you have at most two Lists (L1 contains the data values, and L2 their frequencies).
If you press the 1-Var Stats calculation option, the calculator takes L1 as the default data list so you see List:L1 and the ALPHA cursor blinking
On the secoond line you see Frequency: and nothing else on the line.
On the third line you have Calculate.
If Your data is not in L1, you can change that by pressing the [2nd][2] (L2), or [2nd][3] (L3). Only one list is specified there, so no need for the comma to separate. (you are doing 1-var Stat).

If your frequency data is in L2 you must specify it on the line Frequency. However, since the ALPHA keyboard is activated you must deactivate it first by pressing the ALPHA key. After that press [2nd][2] to select L2 or [2nd][3] to specify L3
If there is no frequency list, leave the Line frequency empty.

When I entered my data in L2 because in L1 I don't know what happened is not on the screen then I press STAT and select CALC, then select 1- Var Stats and press enter I should be able to see the mean,...

When you select 1-Var Stats, specify L2. If you don't specify a list, the calculator will assume L1.

You can recreate L1 by pressing
2ND [{] 1 STO 2ND [L1]

{ is on the ( key.
L1 is on the 1 key.

PS2 Controller. D-pad does not work along with L1 and L2 buttons. PS2 Controller. Does not work period. I took both of them apart and nothing is apart or seems broken. Could it be at the connection...

I know the answer.
I had the exact same problem, D-pad keys no working along with L1 & L2.

Reason of problem: there is a circuit made of carbon on a plastic sheet under the keys (once you open the controller that is..) that circuit is severed somewhere near the D-pad keys because it gets worn off by pressing the keys.

Solution: I had some "wire glue" and reconnected the circuit with it and now all keys are working!

Here is a picture for you to see what I mean:

It's difficult one but doable..
Something so little spoils the whole controller!!

Hi- on my Ti-84 plus Under STAT EDIT I do not have L1. It goes straight to L2 and so I can't graph anything.....any ideas on how to get my L1 back? thanks!

Even if you do not have L1 you can still graph: You have 6 lists to put data in. You are not required to use L1 but you will have to specify the lists. Be it as it may you can restore L1, which in all likelihood you deleted.
Press the [STAT] key and select [4:SetUpEditor] then press [ENTER]

My wireless controller was dropped and when i went to use it the L1 button would not work when pressed, so i took it apart then put it back together and now the L1, L2, R1, and R2 buttons dont work when...

Something happened when you took it apart. Either you dropped a piece, or the pieces are not lining up properly. Take the controller apart again and double check to make sure that everything will touch the contact points they are supposed to touch as you put it back together again. If it still doesn't work, then you might have accedentally damaged a lead on the little circuit board inside it, and at that point you will probably have to buy a new controller.

We just recently purchased the wireless Logitech PS2 son has games which you can zoom in and out...but the controller is stuck ZOomed in and will not return to normal w/o having to pull one...

You need to recalibrate the the analog sticks. To do this you need to take out one of the two batteries then press and hold L1 and L2 at the same time. While holding L1 and L2 insert the battery you took out earlier. Now you can release the L1 & L2 and your analog sticks should be centered. Do not touch or move the analog sticks during this process. If this fails to recalibrate then repeat the procedure again.

Dualshock 2 up, down l1, l2 buttons problems

try to open it and press the key that are not functioning,, if it doesnt work maybe its the time for you to buy a ribbon for your joystick,,, you can use your old joystick that are not functioning and substitute them to the one you are using,,,, if you dont have that try asking your friend if they had a ruined controller... mind you that this only works for the original controller not for generic.... generic controller are disposable... once one key is not functioning you cannot expect to work that key again,,,

you are going to have to open it up and see if your L1 and L2 touch the proper gold circle on the mother board then put it back together and see if it works.
