There is no space requirements. Just be sure not to scrunch up the vent. You must allow the dryer air to leave it.

Whirlpool duet dryer

When the dryer is not is use, it is recommended to leave the dryer door open. What you are experiencing is probably due to outside air coming back thru the dryer vent (the louvers don't always close well due to lint). The temperature difference between the outside air that accumulates in the dryer and the inside air causes condensation.

We have a gas dryer whipool duet . It dry the towel but it still litle damp and the flame it good , no vent hook up , and it run for 70 minute cycle ,. Any idea why that happen . Please hepl

If you are not venting the moisture from the towels away from the rear of the dryer that could be causing your problem. If the dryer is up against the wall try either moving it away from the wall or hooking a vent hose to the discharge and at least pulling the other end of the host around to the side of the dryer. The dryer pulls air into it self from the rear and bottom of the dryer so it could be pulling the moisture from the towels right back into the dryer making it take longer to dry. Hope that helps

Replace heating element for Duet Dryer GEW9200LW1

First disconnect the power to the dryer by unplugging it from the wall. Then remove the 3 screws on the lower panel of the dryer. This should expose the heating element in a metal housing on the right side of the dryer. Disconnect the 2 wires going to the heating element and slide it out of the housing. The heating element part number is 3387747.

My front loader gas Duet dryer has left brownish stains

Sounds like bad drum seals. Check all the way around the drum at the wall for sections of seals missing or an uneven gap around the drum at the wall.

Hope this helps.

Whirlpool duet electric dryer taking too long to dry

A1 Pull the dryer out away from the wall. Unhook the vent from the dryer completely. Do not put anything over the dryer exhaust on the back of the dryer. Do a normal load with the vent unhooked. If it dries better or ok like this then the problem is in the dryer venting. Like a blocked vent pipe or a smashed or restricted vent hose.
A2 - If the vent  doesn't make a difference, then check the blower wheel for excessive lint build up, check that there isn't anything stuck to the air intake baffle inside the drum, (i.e. the screen on the back wall of the dryer when looking into the drum). Check the lint filter chute for blockage. Check that the heating element isn't shorted to ground. Check the exhaust temperature of the dryer. A meat or pocket  thermometer can be used for this. It should cycle between 120 degrees and 170 degrees. Check that the drum seals to make sure the are not worn out.

My whirlpool duet does not heat up

You may have a component failure with your dryer. The following link explains:

You will also need to check the voltage at the wall receptacle to ensure it is reading 220-240VAC. Improper voltage can also cause these symptoms. The last paragraph in the link explains this.

Have you checked the dryer ventilation from the wall to where it exits your home? Do you have a lengthy dryer vent run? Simply cleaning the lint trap and the dryer hose may not be enough if you have a lengthy ventilation system. You may have to have your ventilation inspected or cleaned. A simple test to determine the cause is to remove the dryer vent hose from the back of the dryer and attempt to dry a load. The air leaving the back of the dryer should be forceful and warm (about 140 degrees F). If the air is weak, you may have a clog INTERNAL to the dryer. If the air remains cold, you may have a component failure INTERNAL to the dryer. If the the dryer functions normally with no problem drying, you have a clog somewhere in your ventilation EXTERNAL to the dryer. Try these tips and let me know. I hope this helps you.
