On most electric saws, you have a lock out button that you need to push in prior to depressing trigger. If this is the case on your model, the lock out button can be removed by pulling directly out of saw housing. It takes a little force but it does snap out

I need info and / or the Safety chain-break bolt for Sears Craftsman chainsaw Model#358-350-180. Ser#00269D-202413. The machined-treated bolt/nut attaches part#530-054620 to the saw. My#7013884769.

I don't see the part number, 530054620, you've given for the 358.350180 chainsaw. Sears Parts Direct has the diagrams here: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/model-number/358350180/0247/1503220.html . I believe you need part 26 on the chain saw diagram. That is part # 503210619 and costs $4 from Sears Parts direct.

I hope this helps.

Chain saw has no spark

If it has no spark there are only a few that will cause this, firstly dissconnect the wire from the ignition switch, try again for a spark, if no spark, remove the starter cover, now remove the cut out wire from the ignition unit terminal, try again for spark, if no spark, the ignition unit is bad and will require replacment.

Start procedure for chainsaw ncr 4550

The header says that this is an electric saw which doesn't have a start procedure--just push the button and it runs. Electrics also don't have a clutch because the motor doesn't need to continue running when not cutting like a fueled engine does. Most electrics, however, have a safety device that uncouples the chain drive sprocket from the drive shaft to protect the gearbox. Remove the bar and chain, then look for a broken/disconnected drive link or spring connected with the sprocket. If the shaft itself does not turn, then there is likely problems in the gearbox. Hope this helps!

We are in no way connected with RemingtonPower. They are no longer in production and replacement parts are very difficult to find. Often eBay is your only source of parts. Sorry. Lou

Sear craftsman 18 inch electric saw does not work

No reset or in line fuse I'm aware of. I'd return it to Sears and test any replacement at the store prior to leaving.
Please discuss this with someone in charge of that department. If this has been a problem perhaps try a different model.
Read the manual about the size of conductors in any extension cord too, it may be a contributing factor. HTH

POULAN CHAIN SAW MODEL 1420 ''Chain came off track

Chain is probably stretched. SAFETY FIRST. Electric saw, make sure power is unplugged. Gas saw, make sure sparkplug wire is removed. Remove the cover where the bar is attached to the saw. U should see an adjustment screw for chain tension and one or more bar lockdown screws. Loosen the lockdown screws and turn the tension adjustment screw to permit the bar to slide back toward the motor. Put the chain back in the bar track all the way around. Adjust the tension screw to tighten chain enough you can't pull it out of the track at any spot. Slide the chain by hand at least one complete revolution feeling for any rough spots. If it moves freely, turn the tension screw enough to tighten the chain properly. Correct tension should allow you to pull the chain appx. 1/16 to 1/8 inch from the bar. Tighten the lockdown screws, replace the cover. Rotate chain by hand a couple of revolutions again to check for smoothness again before starting the saw.
