Question about Canon DR-2050C Path-Through Scanner
My end user is stating that he can change the scan options on the pc but the scanner is not recognizing the change in options. Any ideas what could be causing this? They worked perfectly from June - December, 2007.
I have not used CapturePerfect 3.0. Hope the scanner is just fine. Try count only mode to check if it is okay.
Uninstall Captureperfect. Run chkdsk/scandisk to check if OS is ok. Reinstall Captureperfect again and it should work.

I havent used Canon 2580C and hence cant comment on Scan Panel. But you can download SU5000 or Captureperfect 2.0 from Canon website (http://software.canon-europe.com/). This is easy to use and probably offers more features as compared to ScanPanel. Canon 5010C is a higher model as compared to 2589C and Captureperfect may offer better user interface.

Do the lines appear in the same location on all images? Please clean the glass with isopropyl alcohol.IF the lines are crisp and sharp at the edges on all levels of contrast, then it is module problem. If it varies depending upon the contrast chosen and is also with jaggered edges, it is dust stuck on the glass. Dont use solvents.

Pls run checkdisc/scandisk on your Comp. Your OS may be corrupted. Just to verify try scanning by connecting to a formatted newly loaded OS Computer.

Please try and locate the scan module. All Scanners have glass to prevent dust entering the scan module. If dust 'sticks' to the glass and when scanned, it creates a 'line' in the output. Even slow desktop scanners are sealed for dust prevention.
