Question about RCA M4204 MP3 Player

1 Answer

My MP3 Player suddenly shuts off by its self. It only does this on the 'menus' if i browse through them for more then about 10 seconds, but when actually playing a song it's fine. Though, when flipping through songs on the 'song' screens (the red ones), it sometimes freezes. I got it for Christmas - under a year old. It has a full charge right now.

First thing I would do is download and install a software update program from rca's website.
If the upgrade doesn't work, which it should, then battery pack or ribbon connection cable between battery pack and main circuit board is loose or faulty.

Suddenly my Mp3 player quit working. I try to turn it on, and it does but then shuts off after about 10 seconds on a fully charged battery. When I try to connect it to a computer, it reads at first, then...

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

If this fails, it's dead.

Download the proggy for the unit and format the memory, If its a usb unit that needs no drivers and self installs that you can browse try deleting everything you put on it and try again 10 songs at a time. Most likely there is a corrupt file in there.
