1) Are you mixing gas & oil to 50:1, 40:1, or 32:1
2) when running, does it seem to 'sream' or blubber

Basics to check:
1) Spark plug - brown or dark brown - OK
- aluminum or silver - piston/cylinder scored
a) is it carbon or fuel fouled
b) is there spark

2) Compression - 125 to 150 psi

3) Muffler remove for inspection
a) exhaust screen clean or plugged
b) inspect cylinder wall/piston as the flywheel is slowly rotated

Clean carb. Pull apart and soak in carb cleaner. Blow dry with air nozzle. Make sure air filter is clean and plenty of air. Make sure spark plug is not gapped wrong and running to hot. Make sure oil/fuel mixture is accurate

Which size of feeler gauge do we use for td42 valve tappet clearance

the engine make would be a help but generally if it is petrol ,water cooled --.010" hot inlet and .012" hot exhaust
if diesel then .012" inlet hot and .014" exhaust hot
if air cooled petrol then same as for diesel
best if you get a workshop manual and check for specifics.

check the size of the bulbs you are using
anything over 55/65 watts will heat the wires.

Hot plug default

hot , melting cords is an indication of a short in the unit and drawing more power than the cord will carry
it also indicates that the fuse(circuit breaker ) in the house fuse box is of the wrong size and may result in a house fire as if the cord is getting ,then so is the wire in the house to that outlet
have an appliance service centre check it out and have an electrician check out the fuse in the fuse board

Not hot enough

Check that the gas jet is not partially blocked limiting the amount of gas out. To up size my bbq to a hotter flame I used oxy welding set tip drills and gently opened up a size. worked a treat and cooked quicker. maybe you can get next size jets for your problem. check that the regulator is not restricting the gas flow.

What kind of extension cord to use?

You should use a cord with the ground wire in it. If you're running a heater and the wire is getting hot, it's not whether it should be an indoor or outdoor cord it's the wire size that's the problem.
If you wire is getting hot you need a larger wire size.
Depending on the amps of the heater rule of thumb
15 amps a minimum of 14 gauge with ground
20 amps a minimum of 12 gauge with ground
30 amps a minmum of 10 gauge with ground
If you are using a cord over 15 to 20 feet then you may want to go to a larger wire size.
You will know if the wire size is correct if you let the heater run for a while 20 to 30 minutes and then feel the wire it should just barely feel warm it shouldn't get real warm or hot.

We have a rinnai tankless water heater in a builing with 36 apartments and the tenants have been complaining of cold showers. what do we need to do to get hot water all the time for our tenants?

It will take a good plumber to calculate that, and he/she will need info like size of water line entering the building, size and material of hot water lines to apartments, number of baths in each unit, size and capacity rating of current water heater, and maybe more. Chances are that the water heater isn't big enough to keep up with demand, especially in cold weather.

My ge profile microwave keeps blowing its fuse. i

Don't increase the amp size of the fuse this could cause the wiring to get hot or component to get hot and catch on fire. Is the fuse the main fuse the one that the power cord goes to?

HOT KEY FOR GRAPHICS CHARTING

Jambar,

No I believe there is no hot key for this. One can manually click and drag the chart or use the resize function.

On the Format tab, in the Size group, enter width and height.

Alternatively, you place the chart in power point and use the presnetation function to see it full size.
