Question about Canon imageCLASS MF6550 All-In-One Laser Printer

Paper comes out with nothing on it

I replaced the cartridge 2 times and i still get a blank paper come out

when i print out also blank paper comes out

 

no jam, no error just a blank paper

 

any suggestions would be greatly appreciate it



I am a bit frustrated, and hopefully someone will have something a bit more than what has been suggested and I have checked and already tried, but here goes.
This morning our copier was working fine, it had a paper jam and we took care of that, and it copied a few pages after that, but since then it has printed out only blank white sheets.
I went and purchased a new cartridge and changed it, yes did everything according to instructions, I have changed this many times with no problems, until today.
I have unplug it, off and on, checked the cartridge for anything I did wrong.. still nothing..
If anyone can tell me anything more.. I would be greatly appreciative

    I tried looking inside the machine, but the way it is designed, it is impossible without taking that door off.. I didn't see any door.. sorry
    Do you know of anyone that works on this copier in the Toledo, Perrysburg, Ohio area????

There is not a lot that can cause no image, most times it is the cartridge, I take it that you have removed the tabs and are using a brand new genuine hp cartridge. If this is the case then it can only be poor contacts to the cartridge or you have lost primary charge ie replace hi voltage unit.

    Loss of primary charge is the issue, if toner is known good, primary charge is deleived via a high voltage board to a thin wire or roller that applies the static charge to the drum surface, this wire is broken/shorted or the board that powers it.

    Now I just liiked up some details of your machine and charge ans drum are all in the cartridge, so we can eleiminate that, the only other thing I can think of is if the laser shutter is staying closed, I think that apon insertion of the cart this should open.



    This shuuter door inside the machine may sometimes not open. Remove the cartridge, look to the inside & up. You'll see an opening 1/4" high and 3" long. There's a door, check that it can open. Maybe it is just stuck or possible that tab that hits the cartridge to open it is bent.

    Please feel free to post back, I'm off to work now (printer tec) but will check back during the day to see how you are going, the more I think about it the more i beleive the shutter to be the issue.

    I'd also pretty sure it is the laser shutter, it is activated when one inserts toner cart, try firmly inserting it, or just shove your arm in and have a feel for it.

On the new cartridge, did you remember to remove the plastic seal from the toner? Do you get blank sheets only when you print or when you make copies too? Were you careful when clearing the paper jam or could you have accidentally damaged the printer?

    Also, try shaking the toner a bit, as if it was in the store for a long time, the heads could've gotten clogged up. By "I replaced the cartridge twice", do you mean you've tried two different cartridges?

Have tried printing from computer and tried printing test page from printer. both times the pages come out blank.. how do I check the toner levels in printer. thank you


The draw back of inkjet technology printers are, if it is not using quite long period of time,cartridge nozzles will dry up, result printer will act just like a printing some thing but nothing will come on paper(blank page) even ink levels are showing full.
Try to recover the both cartridges through 'clean print cartridge' process from the system,if not better consult cartridge re-filler to clean the nozzles..Replace new cartridges if above said methods are not worked out.

Reading no paper paper tray is full

  1. Check the display for an error message. If the display reads "Clearing paper from printer," the engine has detected a jam and is attempting to eject the jammed pages automatically. These pages will often be blank.
  2. Check the display for "Performing PRINT/STOP TEST" or "Performing SERVICE TEST." Either of these messages indicates that the printer is going through a test procedure that may eject blank pages.
  3. Reduce the amount of paper in the input tray if the printer is feeding multiple blank sheets at a time. The printer will pull extra pages through if the input tray is overfilled.
  4. Replace the paper in the input tray with the correct size if needed. If the 4600 printer detects the paper as an incorrect size for the print job, it may eject the paper without printing anything on it.
  5. Replace the ink cartridges if certain colors are blank on the page. Replace the black cartridge if printing a black text document that is coming out blank. The printer may attempt to print even if the ink level is low or empty, but will unable to print anything on the page, causing it to come out blank.
  6. Remove the sealing tape from newly installed cartridges. The tape covers the print heads and should be removed before installing the cartridges. If the tape is left on, it will prevent ink from getting on the pages as they print.
  7. Press the "Check mark" button on the control panel to enter the printer menu. Run a diagnostic so the printer can attempt to determine the cause of the blank pages printing. Press the up or down arrow to select "Diagnostics." Press the "Check mark" button. Press the "Down" arrow to highlight "PQ Troubleshooting." Press the "Check mark" button. The printer runs a diagnostic and returns to a ready state when done.

I have ink left in cartriges and the printer makes all the noise of printing but prints nothing. Paper comes out blank i just got the ink filled and trying to print out didn't work


It sounds to me like you don't replace the cartridges, but have the ink refilled in the cartridges? This can only be done so many times until the cartridge jets become plugged and therefore can no longer print. You can try appling alcohol to a q-tip and cleaning the cartridge's jets where the ink comes out, but most likely, you will need to purchase new cartridges and start over.

Printing but blank pages coming out .


Take the ink cartridge out of the printer. On the bottom of the cartridge, there's a copper/gold surface with bumps and holes. Take a napkin or peice of paper and rub it on this surface. This serves two purposes - if there's any dried ink or blockage, it will help clean it, and it's a test to see if there's any ink left in the cartridge. On a normal ink cartridge, rubbing paper on the bottom would cause some ink to smear onto the paper. If nothing wet comes out, the ink cartridge is dried out or empty. You'll need to replace it.

When I click "Print" paper feeds through the printer, but nothing prints


try to reload your catridge on the carrier or cartridge holder..
and clean your printer tab circuit and also the cartridge tab circuit and run maintenance page on it..
go to your printer panel and select maintenance ..browse clean printhead..and print maintenance page..to clean the cartridge..

some cartridges comes with deffects, replace with new one or reclaim warranty to your dealer

The fax will not print anything


2 possibilities

1- you did not remove the plastic film on the cartridge
2- the printhead has dried up

Possibly sounding silly here, (again) but have you removed the seal from the toner cartridge (This is a breakaway plastic tab, connected to a length on plastic, which seals the toner for transit)

If this has not been removed from the cartridge then it fails in just the way you are describing
