First time user, steam valve on my xl power pressure cooker sits loosely in the sealed position. Wonder if it is broken. It doesn't turn easily to open. haven't started cooking yet. Can you help me?

the valve is a safety valve to release pressure that gets too high
the action is by the weight of the valve itself sitting over a small opening
as pressure is generated by resistance to flow, that small opening area has to have enough pressure ( psi /surface area) to overcome the resistance to flow ( the weight of the valve body)
when that happens there is a brief loss of pressure and then the valve reseats and the cycle begins again
simple ,effective and safe
to relieve the pressure before opening the lid , remove the valve

He valve of my pressure cooker will not go down so unable to open

2 ways of doing this. one is run cold water over it . This will drop that valve. another is to press the valve with a skewer stick ( or something to that note) down while a second person turns the handle. Please be sure its not hot or no pressure is built up in the pot as that bang is huge!

I have a Deni pressure cooker. 1 out of 10 times it works correctly. The last 2 times the top exploded off and spread liquid through the entire kitchen. Thank god nobody was injured. I have went through...

All pressure cookers should have a release valve. Be sure that is clean and allows a free flow of steam when the weight is not on it. Test it with just water in the pot. Heat the water until its just about to boil (with the lid off) then close and lock down the lid. Steam should start to come out of the release valve. If not .. clean it again.

Why is steam and water coming out of the safety valve of the Russel Hobbs preasure cooker

When a pressure cooker is working normally, some steam and a little water is supposed to come out of the valve, that's how you know it's up to pressure.

Where can i find a manual for ultrex pressure cooker?

The company had a major recall and went out of business. No manuals appear to be available on the web.
Here are some general instructions you can use:

1 Set up your cooker. Place your Ultrex Pressure Cooker on the stove. Remove the lid and pour in no more than 2 inches of water. Depending on what you are cooking the amount of water will vary. More water will ultimately cook larger amounts of food, but you will need to refer to your specific model's instructions on this matter.
  • 2 Put in the food you wish to cook. Close and lock the lid firm to the pot. Make sure it is locked securely so none of contents boil out of the top.

  • 3 Turn on your burner to high heat for approximately ten minutes. Allow the water to boil.
  • 4 Turn the stove down to a low setting after the water is boiling in the cooker. Flip the pressure valve closed and allow your food to simmer.

  • Set the pressure valve to ten pounds. For vegetables, cook 30 to 45 minutes. For meats, cook 45 to 60 minutes.5
  • 6 Open the pressure valve and allow the pressure to discharge. Unlock and remove the lid to find your fully cooked meal.

Just bought the 5 Qt electric pressure cooker. Tonight is the first time I'm using it. Got two questions.....is the pressure release valve supposed to be so loose? I'm also seeing steam and condensation...

Your gasket is no good and needs to be repaired. The water is supposed to be pressurized as high heat steam and when pressure is excessive the valve does its thing to lower to acceptable levels.

Displays E2 and E4 (5 qt Wolfgang Puck pressure cooker - silver) what section is problem mechanical or electronic?

I think E2 means open circuit in thermocouple in center of bottom. E4 means no contact on pressure sensing switch at edge of bottom. Mine had E4 error. Took out switch and used fine sandpaper to clean contact points. Now it works fine.
Remove 3 screws in bottom. Remove bottom cover by turning it ~1/4" to clear tabs. Remove switch at edge of bottom with two blue wires going to it. Clean contacts and replace.

    Displays e4 wont work

Removed the 3 screws on the bottom. There is a relay near the circuit board. Kind of looks like an old morse code relay. Just tapped out "E 4" in morse code. Plugged it in and it works fine.

    Water coming into refrigerator

    Evelyn,

More than likely (I can't be sure from here!), your icemaker "motor module" has failed. This module controls the amount of water that goes into the ice tray. If the timer fails, the water valve can stay open. Also, if this is a new unit, or a used refrigerator you just installed, all you may need is to reset the timer on the motor module. The icemaker must be removed to do that. The tray fill time varies with the local water pressure. If your water pressure increases for some reason, the time must be shortened to avoid overfilling the tray.
