Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
I was repairing a customers 360, (new falcon board) and after replacing the x clamps and reworking the southbridge chip and RAM bricks (for error 0031), the power brick went out.
It wasnt plugged in during repair.
The light on the power brick turns red the instant I plug it in to the 360, even if I dont hit a button.
I tried multiple power bricks, in multiple outlets. It isnt the brick thats faulty.
What the hell happened?
Sound like a short fet /L.D.O.R or a solder bridge under one of
the chips , you "worked" if you used a heat gun , there
is more than likely sever board warpage. A scratched
or broken trace will not trip the 1.8- 3.3 volt standby over current
(red light on the brick) it's normally a solder bridge.
but i could be wrong ,hard to tell with out line tracing
the caps with a scope.
