Your manual will describe exactly what to do. It is not difficult.

The manual does say how to replace or remove or even mentions that is has a internal battery!

I apologize for not investigating more what Acer put in the User Manual. They basically left it up to the purchaser. All they tell you is how to plug things in and turn it on. To get to the battery, the most common type is the button cell. It looks like a quarter and is mounted flat on the motherboard, but sometimes in an upright holder (rarely). There is normally a 3 pin jumper near this battery used to drain the information left in the CMOS, which can prevent a computer from booting, thinking it has the wrong components. If you find this jumper, move the 2 p short from existing 2 pins to the remaining pin ( over one). I hope this doesn't sound too confusing. If this is too dificult, you can remove the battery cell from it's holder and measure it with a meter. Be sure to put it back in the way it came out. Also, if you moved the jumper for 30 sec. make sure you put it back over one pin (nrm position). You can buy a new button cell at Radio Shack or even any battery outlet. I really hope this helps, Sorry I was hasty the first time.

How do I change the clock battery on my acer aspire l100 desktop

Unfortunately, the Acer site is worthless as far as documentation, so I will just give you the generic answer and you will need to fill in the blanks. Typically, the clock battery used in computers is a lithium coin cell. Some systems have larger batteries, but most do not. You will need to open the case and find the battery on the motherboard. It should be about the size of a quarter. It will have a number on it. You should be able to find a replacement at your local drug store, kmart, etc. Just replace the battery and and ajust the clock and you are done.

How to I change the battery on my acer aspireL100

First, ensure that your power adaptor is consistantly powering your system and watch for intermittant operation with the adaptors green light. (This rules out cord breaks for shorts)

Second, all laptops have a removable battery: You can find a replacement at http://www.kahlon.com/batteries.asp

Laptop batteires serve to power your CMOS (Carbon Metal Oxide Semiconductor) on your laptop, and keeps your internal BIOS clock accurate. On Desktops, it's a lithium battery on the mainboard.

Also, check to ensure that you do not have a battery recall on the unit as well, as you may be able to get a free replacement.

If your clock is off by a few minutes, change time servers in the windows clock option. Just double click the time on the task bar, click internet time, and you can this one if you don't have it listed: nist.expertsmi.com Some are overloaded due to requests. That should keep you with arc seconds on the actual usno time clock.

Good luck.

Good luck.
