Hello

Are you sure that it is the fan itself making the noise? If you are not completely sure, open up the side panel on the case and identify where exactly the vibrating sound is coming from. It is usually a loose CD rom or HDD trey.

If it is the fan itself, well, after 10 min running, the CPU is heated up much more, so the fan must spin faster to compensate for the heat. If the bearings on the fan is done, just buy a new fan, and all should work fine again. Feel free to comment if this does not help you, so i can search forr other solutions.

Kind regards
Andrea

When playing solitaire, my Lenovo intermittently buzzes or vibrates. Up to 8 to 10 times. Then stops for a few minutes and starts again. Very annoying. Ho do I shut this off!

Hi there the only equipment in a laptop capable of this is the CPU fan. I would suggest getting it cleaned out first or probably the fan is damaged creating vibration which will need to be replaced.

I have a dodge ram 1500 5.7 hemi and lots of noise is comming from the fan after about 15-20 minutes of driving what could it be?

if it has a thermal clutch fan then then the clutch needs replaced. the thermal clutch fan firms up after it reaches a certain temp allowing the fan to spin with the motor, when its cooler, it spins freely. sounds like when it warms up, and is on firm, that the shaft bearings are wore, therefore it probably is vibrating making that noise.

Won't start but CPU fan vibrates but will not go full blast. Intermittant

It appears you have a faulty CPU fan and it is causing the CPU to overheat and shut down.
I suggest you replace the CPU fan. remove any dust from the heatsink and put new heatsink compound on the CPU/heatsink.

Compaq presario CQ61 is making a vibrating noise. it is constant

Two things,
1) Check if you have a CD/DVD in the disk-drive and remove it. The spinning disk is causing the vibration

2) Go to START > Control panel > PERFORMANCE AND MAINTENANCE > POWER OPTIONS >

In the middle of the dialog box, you should see a box that says "Turn off hard disks".
There you can select "After 3 minutes" or "After 5 minutes". This will turn off another spinning/vibrating thing if you have an issue with imbalance there.

3) Make sure you are not blocking the vent holes on the bottom of your laptop so air can get through and it doesn't overheat. The last spinning thing on your laptop is the cooling fan. This only comes on when it is hot. If you are doing a lot of calculations or heavy-duty computing will also make it hot but this is very rare (I guess some games can also be considered heavy-duty computing and cause overheating). If you are doing heavy-duty computing, there is nothing that can be done about he vibration of the cooling fan.

Good luck

My computer is becoming really hot and noisy. After turning on the computer, everything is good (no noise). Once around 15 minutes passes by or I open up a lot of programs together, my computer starts...

Sounds like the fan is wearing out, as it heats up the fan needs to spin faster and if the bearings are wearing out it will start getting louder and it will also get hotter because the fan cannot keep up the heat being produced. You can replace the fan, most computer shops will carry replacements, also get a can of compressed air and give the inside of the computer a good cleaning. This will help keep things cooler as well. Also make sure that the air vents on the outside of the case are clear as well.

Is your machine a old one or a slimline version??
Slimline version have a micro fan and can be replace it.The old one is even better because are cheap and you have a lot choice.Just make sure you get the right one.I believe is a ball bearing fan so if the balls inside get dirty or sticky ..or just defective from nature....nothing more you can do then get a new part.the noise is cming from micro vibration in rotation and all that micro..in 2000-3000 rpm in a minute make a lot noise
