Hitachi 60sx2k vertical hold

I got the a hitachi 60sx2k for free. when I got it home, I found out that the vertical hold was out. I have been trying to find a repair person in the area, but the closest one to me is about an hour away (I live in the country). I was wondering if there is a "common" fix for this problem? if so can someone direct me. I have downloaded the service manual on line and have a fairly good handle on electronics so I am not afraid to break out the iron.

Vertical hold on a hitachi 53 inch projection tv, does not work on a/v inputs picture is stops rolling on hd inputs. Please help..

The set needs proper attention to its vertical output section, and synchronising seperatror sections. You must have through knoledge in electronics and repairing circuit boards. If you have, replace all the electrolytic capacitors at its vertical output section.

I have a 60sx2k alignment won't hold

There can be a number of causes for this behavior. At this point I would suspect the convergence ICs. If you can solder, I would start by resoldering the pins of the convergence ICs. If that does not resolve the problem, then I would next change the ICs. I really believe that the solder connections are the problem as the unit would not converge were the ICs defective.

Please keep us posted on your progress.

The CRTs for this model are no longer available. Make sure that the CRT is the problem. If so, the set is not fixable unless you can find a servicer that has a CRT from old stock.

How do adjust verticle picture on Hitachi 46F510

You can adjust vertical height through the service menu, but i would recomed that you trouble shoot the vertical section as its probably a solder joint , leaky diode or something that is causing the problem. Often its bad solder at the vertical output IC itself that causes that sympton.
